First I want to thanks every one who react on my Shabana Azmi question.
I have another question.
Amitabh Bachchan's first film (in which he makes his debut) was SAATH
HINDUSTANI , Mudhuri Dixit's first film was ABOTH , Kishore Kumar give first
playback in the film ZIDDI (OLD) , Shankar Jaikishan give first music in
BARSAAT and Hasrat Jaipuri wrote his first song also in BARSAAT.
I am telling this because I want to know if the film guru's of the net know in
which film other famous or not so famous Actors, Actress, Playbacksinger (male
& female) , Music Directors or Lyrics writers make there debut (first Film).
If you know in which film someone in one of those categories makes his or her
debut, I will appreciate it if you mail it to me.

There is some confusion about this. Apparently, Rajesh's first film is
"BahaaroN ke Sapne" with Asha Parekh. I believe that he won a contest of
sorts in Filmfare or some other magazine. A lot of people had applied in
this "Become a Star" contest. However, "Raaz" was released earlier. If I
am not mistaken, "BahaaroN ....." says "Introducing Rajesh Khanna". I have
not seen the film in years and may be wrong.

Well, right now there is an album of movie "Rangeela" being
released. Cover claims it is first Hindi movie for which
ARR is MD. ( Roja, Bombay are considered originally Tamil films )
The director of this movie is Ramgopal Verma, the maker
of movies like Droh ( Nagarjuna, Urmila) and Hairaan (
Sridevi and Venkatesh ). This movie stars Jackie, Aamir
and Urmila.

It should read SAAT HINDUSTANI. SAATH and SAAT have different meanings, you

I don't know if Sridevi's first film was JULIE, but she was in the movie.

actress Laxmi and Vikram (from Hubli, Karnataka). Laxmi had acted in the original Malayalam

Vikram had graduated from IFTI (Indian Film and Technology Institute in Poona). IFTI had
produced quite a few talented actors and actresses at that time, Shekhar Kapoor, Rehana
Sultana, Jaya Bhaduri, Shatrughan Sinha. Danny Denzongpa...to name a few. I don't know if the
institute still runs, since I haven't seen any new actors or actresses being taken from IFTI.
Asrani used to teach acting at IFTI.

Come on !! Half the world knows Sridevi's first Hindi movie was Julie.
She played a younger sister to this Laxmi you are talking about. I also
wrote "SolahawaN Saawan" because that's Sri's first movie as a heroine.
The songs of "Julie" were really great. But I can remember only three
songs of this movie right now :
(1) Bhul gaya sab kuchh
(2) Dil kya kare kab kisi ko
(3) My heart is beating ( who is the singer ? )

Sridevi does appear in the film as Julie's (the title character
played by Lakshmi) younger sister. You can see her quite clearly in a
number of shots though she doesn't really have any dialogues.

No, his first film as a singer was 'Bobby'. 'Agreement' was his first film as an actor, and it starred Rekha, not Zeenat. This film was released around 1980, whereas 'Bobby' was released in 1970.

(Film and Technology Institute of India) in Poona with diploma both in acting and playback
singing. He got his first break in Hindi films as a play back singer. It is a pity that
Rishi Kapoor did not insist that Shailendra Singh must be his play back, since Rishi's
career itself had a shaky start (Rishi had a couple of flops such as Zehreela Insaan after
Bobby) and he could not dictate terms with his producers.

Nope, I meant "Shakti". Anil K appears only twice in the movie (the very
beginning and the very end), he plays Dilip Kr's grandson (ie Amitabh's son).
The entire movie, if you remember, is the flashback of Dilip telling Anil the
story of his life as a cop...

Anil Kapoor was __NOT__ there in "Mazdoor". If you want, I can tell you

So there is no question of Anil Kapoor being in "Mazdoor". Now what
I think is that you mixed up "Mazdoor" with "Mashaal", also starring
Dilip Kumar-Anil Kapoor combination, with Rati Agnihotri as well.
"Mashaal" was a good movie. The scene in which Waheeda Rehman is going
through severe pain and Dilip Kumar is shouting for help - you must
have seen n times in "Show theme" - is a good piece of acting; although
one of my friends calls it over-acting. The popular song was
"FootpathoN ke hum rahenewale" ( a chorus, but main singer I think was
Shailendra Singh ).

No, Ravi, Neeraj is correct about 'Shakti'. But you may be confusing 'Mashaal' with 'Mazdoor'. 'Mashaal' was the film in which Dilip Kumar played the editor of a newspaper, and Anil Kapoor the local 'gunda'. In 'Mazdoor', Dilip Kumar acted opposite
Raj Babbar, Padmini Kolhapure, Raj Kiran etc.

Shailendra Singh also acted in a film called "DO JASOOS" starring Raj Kapoor and Rajendra Kumar
(I think it was Rajendra Kumar's home production - Dimple Films). Shailendra Singh was paired
with Bhavna Bhat (her first film). Had a beautiful duet by Shailendra Singh and Lata (I
think). Does anybody remember the words? it starts with some thing like "Puruvayya...jaana
kahan re.."
Also, getting back to first films....how can anybody forget AMJAD KHAN in SHOLAY

Kuntal is right. Amjad Khan first film was Hindustan Ki Kasam, with Raj Kumar, Priya Rajvansh; director Chetan Anand. He was a pakistani pilot in this movie.

first film as a singer was 'Bobby'. 'Agreement' was his first film as an actor, and it starred
Rekha, not Zeenat. This film was released around 1980, whereas 'Bobby' was released in 1970.
Shailendra Singh's first film, I think, was "DO JASOOS" starring Rajendra Kumar and Raj Kapoor
in the title roles. Shailendra Singh was teamed with Bhavna Bhat in this film.
