Hi,
I was looking for the lyrics of this Mukesh song, along with
the name of the film, music director and lyricist. I am not as regular
with my readings of this newsgroup, so it very probable that I may
have missed an earlier posting of this song. Here goes anyway:
The song begins as follows. I have the first stanza:please add and
improve to complete this song:
Oh re, taal mile nadi ke jal se, nadi mile saagar se,
Saagar mile konse jal mein, koi jaane na,
Oh re taal mile nade ke jale se...
Sooraj ko dharti tarse, dharti ko chandrama, dharti ko chandrama,
Paani mein seep jaisi, pyasi har atma, pyasi har atma,
O mitva re..., Paani meing seep jaisi, pyasi har atma,
Boond chhupi kis badal mein, koi jaane na,
Oh re taal mile nadi ke jaal mein...
I am sure most will agree that this is hauntingly beautiful, to use a
cliche. and I am eager to get the complete lyrics to this song. Please email me
song directly in case it has already been posted earlier.
Thanks !

Yes, it's a good song. If no one else posts it, I will post it when I get time.
(Though I don't remember the lyrics, I have the song.)

Oho re taal mile nadi ke jal mein
Nadi mile saagar mein
Saagar mile kaun se jal mein
Koi Jaane na.
Sooraj ko dhartee tarse
Dharati ko chandramaa
Dharatee ko chandramaa
Paanee mein seep jaise
Pyasee har aatmaa
Pyasee har aatma
O Mitwaa re...
Paanee mein seep jaise, pyasee har aatmaa
Boond chhipee kis baadal mein
Koi Jaane na.
Anjaane hothon par bhi
Pahchaane geet hain
Pahchaane geet hain
Kal tak jo begaane the
Janmon ke meet hain
Janmon ke meet hain
O Mitwaa re....
Kal tak jo begaane the
Janmon ke meet hain
Kyaa hogaa kaun se pal mein
Koi jaane naa
Enjoy!

Well the name of the movie is surely not TEESRI KASAM. It is a movie
with sanjeev kumar as hero. I forgot the name of the movie, but this
movie also has the following songs.
1) Na Na Meri Beri ke ber mat todo
2) Khushi khushi kar do vida, ke rani beti raj karegi

Guys I have seen 5 posting on the net which have'nt mentioned anything
about the start which I feel is wrong. IMHO the song starts as
following
Kohre taal mile nadi ke jal main, nadi mile saagar main
I am writing this from memory and I dont have song with me. Please let
me know if I am mistaken. Kohre and taal I think means small ponds.
Thanx

Movie: Anokhi Raat
Music: Roshan
Whenever people alk about Mukesh singing for Roshan, this is the first song
they refer to.
Have fun;

If you are **very** particular (like people are in an Antakshiri competition),
then the song actually begins as follows:
Ho ha dai re dai re dai re (or similar sounding words) (repeated twice)
Hm hm hmmmmmmmmm hmmmmmmmmm
Oho re taal mile........(or Kohre taal) I'm not sure about this, but I think
it is Oho re and not Kohre. I don't know what Kohre means, but Kohra mean fog.
There is a movie of this name which has the haunting melody "O beqarar
dil.....". BTW, the above song is from Anokhi Raat.
Gotta run guys........have an exam coming up............

In the earlier thread also there was some discussion about this but it fizzled
out without any strong confirmation from either sides. I too am eager to know
the correct line.

This irons out a small doubt I had. I always confuse the composers
of the above song and "Chal akela chal akela chal akela, tera mela
peeche chhoota rahi chal akela...." So now, the latter is composed
by OP Naiyyar.

Some (I:-)) also think about "Tum agar mujhko na chaaho to koi baat
nahin, tum kisi aur ko chaahogi to mushqil hogi.." from Dil Hi To Hai.
Sahir apparently was being dumped by Sudha Malhotra when he wrote
this.

Some others (me incl.) think of "Teri duniya me dil lagta nahi......." from
Bawre Nain. Anyway, regarding the "dumping" story, I thought that it was the
other way round, ie. Sahir dumped sMalhotra. This was when sMalhotra sang "Tum
mujhe bhool bhi jaao to ye haq hai tumko, meri baat aur hai maine to mohabbat
ki hai........" (the lyrics were of course Sahir's, so its difficult to
conclude who dumped whom.)
