Music Director Sardul Kwatra died in Fremont (near
San Francisco) on Tuesday, 06 July 2004. He had had
a stroke 3-4 months ago. Since then, his health had
been quite precarious.

Another veteran of the Godlen Era departs.

Really sorry to hear that. I had telephoned him about three months ago, but
could not establish contact. Little did I know that he had had a stroke.
As a matter of fact, I was looking up my phone list just yesterday to call
him up again one of these days.

May God rest his soul in peace.

A friend of mine knew Kwatra Sahab quite well and was
in touch with him even after he had the stroke. He gave
me a piece of information which I don't recall reading
before : Suraiya (who sang for him in Goonj) was his
step-sister.

He wasn't the MD for Ishtili / Ashtalli. I am told the correct
spelling is Ashtalli and its MD was Vinod.

My Source : Har Mandir Singh 'Hamraaz'.

Very Sad to hear that, he happens to be my distant relatives, I even
remember him singing live at one of the parties.

Regards to the family here at New Delhi and there at USA.

Hi Manpreet:

Is is at all possible for you to get in touch with the relatives of
Kwatra Sahib and find out some basic details such as date and place of
birth, early life etc.

I know you are busy running your own company and that is hard work, but
RMIMers here will greatly appreciate any info you can find out. TIA.
