Hi ,
Don't know how many of you remember that song "Dheere dheere aap mere dil ke
mehman ho gaye" that was from a movie " Baazi" I think, released a few years
ago, starring Aamir Khan and (prob. ?) Sonali Bendre. Yesterday I was listening
to some old ghazals by Mehdi Hassan , and part of the first paragraph/ verse is
more or less copied from (or should I say inspired by) the ghazal " Rafta rafta
woh meri hasti ka samaan ho gayi" . The interesting thing is, apart from the
tune being lifted (partially), the lyricist liked one of the lines so much, he
imported it sans any changes : "Pahle jaan, phir jaane jaan, phir jaane jaana ho
gaye "
Regards,

Anu Malik's copy of "Rafta Rafta" was not desecration. His copy of Deep
Purple's "Child In Time" for the intro of the song "Aisa Zakhm Diya Hai"
From Akele Hum Akele Tum is. A Malik does have the talent as evidenced
by his music for Border, Baazigar and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi. He has
the pedigree, being the son of Sardar Malik. His problem could be
attributed to creative block :-)

Hi,
What you say about Anu Malik is nothing new. He has copied many tunes
from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hasan before. He even told Nusrat
Fatah Ali Khan 'we copy you because we admire you' ... yeah right!!!

And to top it all up, he thinks he's one of the best music directors in
India (quoted in various interviews .. including 'Filmfare')

Some MD's are pathetic when they lift ideas ! How about that "Tu Cheez Badi
Hai Must Must", a straight lift of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's "Dam Must Kalandar".
It is disgusting.

Tu meri zindagi hai from Aashiqui is a copy of a Pakistani song, most of
the songs from Phir teri kahani yaad aayi are copies of Pakistani songs.

A latest example of this plagarism is the song from Judaai - Mujhe ek
pal chen na aaye. It is a copy (both the tune and the lyrics) from
Nusrat Fatehali Khan's original "Tere bina".
