Hello,
In my school we learnt song for Raag Bhoop (Bhoopali) which is
given below:
भुप रूप गंभीर शांत रस
म नी वर्जित ओडव सब गावत
----------------------------------------------------------
Bhoop roop gambheer shant rasa
ma nee varjeet odav sab gaavat
-------------------------------------------------------------

This song is also sing in the Bhoop raag. So at a time you are able to
remember information about raag as well as how to sing that raag. (not
exactly singing)
Will anybody tell me where can I find songs for all raag ?

This pentatonic raga, called Bhupali or Bhup in HCM, occupies the
first
position in the That order (28th mela in CCM and called Mohanam) and
is suited for evening riyaaz. All the major notes S R G P D S in the
aroakna and avrokan in the same order. The raag is high spirited and
suited for happy moments.
Remember the garden of flowers where Amitab and Rekha dance to a
scintillating tune by Shiv Hari, "Dekha Ek Khaab yeh to silsile hue."
or the sensuous Rekha declaring "Aankonki mastike Mastane hazaron ha"
in Umrao Jaan? Both songs belong to this Bhupal or Mohanam. An off
beat
and yet beautiful Dimple with a shrouded head sings "Dil hun hun
kare"
in Rudaali. A perfect follow on the raga was in Sursangam "Jaun Tore
Charan Kamal Pari Vari". A few other songs in Hindi films resemble
Bhupali but happen to dither on the way. Burman Da starts off his
"Chanda Hai tu" (Aaradhana) on Bhupali, but makes a prayog of N in the
Charanam. Shankar Jaikishan
does the same in his ""Saynora" where but for the repeated words
words
(S N R S), the whole song confirms totally to the pattern of Bhupali.
In Tamil, Ilayaraja made most of it with "kanamaniye kaadal
enbadhu" (6lirundu 60
varai), or "Ponnaram Poovaram" , or "naan undhan thayagavendum" or
"poovil vandu koodum" or "thenmalli poove" or "meenkodi theril
manmadha
rajan" Each of these songs is true to the original raga and in its
own
way explicitly brings out the inimitable style of Ilayaraja. And as a
member pointed out the best of Ilayrarja, although borrowed heavily
from the varnam, was "Ninnukori Varnam". Earlier, there was the
"Giridhara Gopala" in Meera (with MS), which could
even be offered as a lesson in Mohanam for learners. Yet, Meera was
more a classical concert than a film.

I think RMIMers misunderstood your query. What you have cited is a
lakshaN-geet for Bhoop and you are looking for such compositions in
other raagas. Cross-posting to RMIC where you might have better luck.
FWIW, most "text books" of Hindustani classical music will contain
some lakshaN-geets. Try Deodhar, Bhatkhande etc.

This is called LAXAN GEET of a Raga. For each of the Raga, you can
find a LAXAN GEET in any standard text for the exams of Gandharva
Mahavidyalaya.

I have seen such books in Hindi and Marathi. No doubt there must be
some in Bangla too.

Hello,
Vinayak ji, you understood exactly what I wanted to ask. Yes its
"Lakshangeet".
I forgot the name. Thank you very much.
