Ghazal Singers in Movies - Miss Kalyani
kamalakar pasupuleti
in late 1930s before she was introduced into films . Unfortunately
much of her private renditions were destroyed and if available today
is a rare possibility.
For many music lovers she is best recognised for her qawwali
of ZEENAT and a ghazal released on vintage classics from film AINA .
I recollect from my disc collection the following beutiful
ghazals of her from movies.
1.Onchi nigahon ke peer mere kare hai bach ke raho
Sayyan hamare saare gaau ke patwari hai bach ke raho
2.Saajana hum tum bina bhaye udaas
Both are from film HOLI - 1940 Music Khemchand Prakash
3.Dil hai tumhari yaad ki duniya liye hue
Ek jaam hai sharaab ka darya liye hue
4.Jawani sunder chab dikh laaye man ki mouj badhaye
Both are from Ghar Ki Laaj - 1945 Music AR Qureshi.
It is not known why many of her ghazals were not released
on vintage classics .
I request old timers to add a few more to the list if they remember any.

Misal-e-Khayal Aaye To Aate Chale Gaye
Quite good a ghazal. It was released on the 2 LP set / Playback 50
Years, Vol 1 / 1936-46
The title is some what similar to the song from the film: Lal Paththar /
Un Ke Khayal Aaye To Aate Chale Gaye / Rafi - a very good song

Check indianscreen's CD Juthika Roy Vol 2.
It used to be aired by AIR/RP in the yesteryears.

between 1937 - 1940 . Availability - Uncertain .
