Hi,

Here are two gazals/qawwalis by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan from his album
"Shahenshah" -- Great album.
Ofcourse, a qawwali is as much about form (if not more) as
content most of the time,
and you really must "listen" to this album to appreciate it fully.

Meri aankhon ko bakshe hain aansoo
dil ko daage alam de gaye hain

Is inaayat pe kurbaan jaoon
pyar maanga tha gham de gaye hain

Dene aaye the hamko tasallee
woh tasallee to kya hamko denge

Tod kar kaaba-ae-dil hamaara
hasraton(?) ke sanam de gaye hain

Dil dhadakta hai fariyaad karke
aankh thakti(?) hai aansoo baha ke

Aasi ulfat se wo jaate jaate
mujhko apni kasam de gaye hain.

Ye subah subah chehre ki rangat udee huee
kal raat tum kahan the bataana sahee sahee

Ye udee udee si rangat, ye khule khule se gesu
teri subah keh rahi hai teri raat ka fasaana

Dil leke meraa haath mein, kehte hain muzhse wo
kya loge iske daam bataana sahee sahee

Aankhen milao ghair se to humko jaanejaan (??)
saaki tumhe kasam hai hai pilana sahee sahee
