will somebody refresh my memory...
what was the serial "subah" about?
who were the main characters?
when did it air?
were there any outstanding features/ controversies?

Hi, guys. Someone wanted the lyrics of the title song of the tele-serial
SUBAH. Man, that brought back a flood of pleasant memories about home!!
I used to hum that song during those days. Let's see if I can recollect it
now.

Singer : R.D. Burman

Ho, ai zamaane tere, saamne aa gaye
Aaj ke daur mein, naujawan aa gaye
Dar pe tere, banke suraj,
Leke subah aa gaye ab hum
Subah to, jalsaaera (??) (2)

Maut aur zindagi, dono hairaan hain
Waqt ke mod mein, hum woh toofaan hain
Ai zamaane tere, saamne aa gaye
Aaj ke mod mein, naujawan aa gaye,
Dar pe tere, banke suraj
Leke subah aa gaye ab hum,
Subah to, jalsaaera (??) (2)

Corrections welcome. Other good "tele-songs" were the title songs of Chapte
Chapte and Chunauti (the latter by Amit Kumar). Amit Kumar also sang the superb
song "Zindagi, zindagi, zindagi; Kab tumko dekha hai..." in Mahesh Bhatt's
telefilm "Janam".

That line should be :

Subah ko, kar salaam (2)

>Maut aur zindagi, dono hairaan hain

. . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. . . .

Subah ko, kar salaam (2)

In the same tone, it would be nice to have the title song of
the tele-serial "Manzil Apnee Apnee". The song was sung by
Jagjit Singh and goes something like this:

Yeh jag hai dukh sukh ka melaa
Har insaan hai yahaan akelaa
Apne apne sapne sab ke
Apnee apnee manzil (3)

. . . . . . . . . .

It is a well written song rendered rather well by Jagjit Singh.

I think that line goes as follows:

Subah to, Dar pe tera

: Regards.

Hope that helps
