Name of the female star in Mr.& Mrs. 55

A ladystar acted as ladylove of Jhonny Walker in Mr. & Mrs. 55
It was by no means a small role.She also sang a song 'Jane kahan mera
jigar Gayaji' on scren with Jhonny. I do not think she acted in anym
other film. Name ?

Amita/Ameeta. She is relatively well known and acted as
heroine in some later hit movies such as 'Tumsa
Nahin Dekha' and 'Goonj Uthi Shehnai'. Also in Dekh
Kabira Roya.

Though it has been considerable time since I last saw Mr. And Mrs. 55
and Tumsa Nahi Dekha, I doubt if it was Amita who played Jhonny
Walker's ladylove. If it was the same lady, then it was quite good
facial transformation in two years i.e. from 1955-57.

My bad then. A Website says supporting actress in Mr & Mrs 55
was one Radhika. She later appeared in Sunil Dutt movie Ek phool char
kaante as supporting actress.

Amita was a different actress. Apart from the films
you have named, she had appeared in other films like
"Munimji", "Hum Sab Chor HaiN" (1956), "Mere Mehboob",
"Around The World In 8 Dollars" and "Sawan" etc.

There has been considerable discussion about Johnny
Walker's lady-love on this NG. A Google search would
bring up all these discussions. I believe she was a
Parsi girl, by the name of Yasmin. And I don't think
she appeared in any other movie.

I think RMIMers who have some connection with the film
industry people should try to find out such details by
contacting survivors of the Guru Dutt camp --- like
Abrar Alvi. Just a suggestion.

Hope she had been given more roles. She seemed to have a magnetic
screen presence, they way she modulated her facial expressions while
rendering -'baate.n hai.n nazar kii, nazar se samajhaa_uu.Ngii, pahle
pa.Do pa_iiyaa.N to phir batalaa_uu.Ngii' was really classic.
By the way this reminds me of another lesser know dancing girl, I saw
her in the film Bewafa(?), starring Nargis. The song 'taanaader naa
taanaa re taanaader naa taanaa, mere dil me.n aajaa naa ho gaanaa pyaar
kaa gaanaa' was picturized on her.

Noor was Shakila's sister.
