In our local FM channel, he is pronouncing an ad line, that
it is "bhiiShoN Gorom" with all accent like them. (it's hot)
If so, it is indeed creditable to the fellow that he could
do away with the telltale accent altogether in his usual
pronunciation in songs. A very difficult task.

Much as I hate to write anything about Kumar Sanu, here are the answers to your
questions.
1. Yes, he is a Bengali, not just of Bengali origin.
2. His last name is Bhattacharya.
3. His full name is really Shanu Kumar Bhattacharya.
His diction is imperfect, to say the least. If you hear him in the live
concerts, etc., where he speaks something in Hindi, it is outright
unacceptable.
Have you seen him in the "Harmony" clips aired on Z-TV or Sony, etc., where he
sings with his facial expressions as if "usske pet men sirdard ho raha ho...".
:-)
And I am writing this without ever having gone to a web site maintained on him
by ???, but yes, actually there is one (or at least used to be).
Happy listenings.

Thanks for the reply..
I never had Sanu moshay in high esteem
And then he committed the ultimate sacrilege by saying that
ARR's music is repetitive and does not make sense. That was
just after ARR had given a few songs to him.
Ever since, I (most of the ARR fans) have reduced our
attention to his songs even further.
It is painful for me when I note down the lyrics of Sanu
songs, but that needs to be done for ISB.
I think having come to know about his view on ARR, nani is
going to declare that Kumar Sanu is the only non-pig in the
current HFM industry.

A few songs! The only one I know of is the duet "mil gayiin mil gayiin wo
manzilen". And it (the male portion) was very poorly sung. No wonder ARR did
not repeat him. Could you list the others.

Don't get me wrong. The fellow does have a few good songs to his credit. But
it is like just a few good numbers Vs. ..........
...snipped...
Happy listenings.
