This movie has Venkatesh (who is popular in telugu films and is the son of
D Rama Naidu who is the producer of this movie and others like Prem Quaidi,
Rakhwala, Mayor Saab etc) and Karishma Kapoor. It is a remake of Venkatesh's
telugu movie 'Chanti' (which was remade from the tamil movie chinnathambi).
Anari has some very good music by Anand-Milind.

Anari story is set in a rural background and IMO has a overdose of sentiments.
Acting by Venkatesh and Karishma is decent but nothing great. I think Karishma
did quite well compared to her previous films. I did not like the film but
what do I know considering that the film did very well at the box office.

To all the Anand-Milind haters I think even if A-M lift tunes from South Indian films,
many of their songs are as good as or better than the original. The only song he copied
completely was 'Dhak Dhak' from the Chiranjeevi-Sridevi film 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka
Sundari'. Incidentally this film was later dubbed into hindi as 'Aadmi aur Apsara'.
A-M usually copies only the pallavi and not the whole song. Some of his
songs have been copied into telugu for some films remade from Hindi.

I seem to have completely missed out this movie. I have seen all other

I haven't seen Anari. The telugu version 'Chanti' was excessively sentimental
and crude; and so unrealistic. I usually feel bored while watching badly
made movies. But this movie was down right repulsive.

Ilaiyaraaja's soundtrack was the only saving grace of the movie.
Can any one tell me what are all the songs AM lifted in the hindi version?

2.5 crores, I think, refers to the money made in the Bombay territory. Also
if I remember correctly the list was sorted according to the collections/selling rate
for the Bombay territory. I think just counting collections khalnAyak was
next only to Ankhen.

I remember it as two songs that resembled songs from 'Chanti'. They were
'Idi Tailam Petti' and the song which is repeated in the movie (I think it
is Jabiliki Vennalaki). As usual only the pallavi was copied.

I DOUBT THAT, SINCE AASHIQUI AND DIL HAI KE MANTA NAHI WERE BIGGER HITS THAN
HHRPK. HOW MUCH HHRPK MADE BY THE MOVIE AASHIQUI JUST MADE THAT IN ITS AUDIO SALES.
