Shailendra - Shankar Jaikishan - Tributes

It takes great pleasure for me to upload to music lovers, the rare
audio interview of Shankar ji, in Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan,
with Tabassum ( courtsey a close friend who is in the USA, now ). This
interview shows in details what kind of personalities SJ were and what
went behind to create the magnificient music in Hindi Cinema. With this
interview I guess many discussions ( basically difference of opinions
within fans of SJ ) would get a right direction.
One more interview I am uploading on the ocassion of Shailendra ji's
birthday, yesterday ( courtsey one unknown friend, email id was
omnamahshivay ). This was done on Awaaz FM in Dubai and Shailendra ji's
daughter and son were live on radio. This also gives us lot of insights
about Shailendra as a person....
The evening of yesterday, after this interview was one of the most
memorable....many eminent personalities discussed about the life and
times of Shailendra ji till the wee hours of today morning !!! one
really needs such musical environment to breathe....life becomes so
beautiful !!

Thank you Kaustubh, both these programs. They are certainaly a treasure
for music fans esp the Shailendra program.
Btw, Kaustubh, was it you conducting the interview?! The voice sounded
a lot like you? It was a well-conducted interview. Whoever it is
definitely had the warmth of a music-lover. Only one little nit-pick.
The name is pronounced as 'Shailendra' not 'Shailender'.

Sorry for following up on my post, but hearing out the entire program
with Amla Mazumdar and Manoj there is a very strong indication of Raj
Kapoor letting Shailendra down during 'Teesri Kasam'. They say that Raj
Kapoor's offer to release the film under RK Banner was too late and
they also mention him keeping Shailendra hanging for dates.
It's tragic that the sensitivity of man was so self-destructive that it
lead to his death..... His daughter Amla's statement that
'....It was not his financial investmenst that let him down, it was the
investment in people and friends that killed him!'
That sensitivity is what is probably missing in artists today....
