Additional information comes from Geet Kosh volumes.
Recently I had mentioned that Pankaj Mullick did compose outside
the New Theatres banner before 1950. But I was wrong; I was
thinking of the film Sampatti which was done by Timir Baran.

I think Encyclopedia of Indian Cinema is
a more reliable and comprehensive source,
especially for non-Hindi movies (listings,
spellings, etc.) than the above. So if
you possess it, you might want to cross
check the filmographies with EIC before
posting.

Prof. SS mentioned on the Timirbaran filmography
thread that Listener's bulletin #69 credits
this film to RC Boral. EIC credits it to Pankaj Mullick
though.
Some comments on the Bengali films:
> Mahaprasthaner Pathey 1953,
All the songs in this movie were either Hindi or Sanskrit.
> Rajkamal 1955,
The correct name is 'Raikamal' after the name of the
protagonist in the movie played by Kaberi Bose. Probably
the last movie in which Pankaj Mullick composed songs.
> Louha-Kapat 57,
AFAIR, this was a songless movie. The Hindi version
of this movie is Bimal Roy's Parivar(MD Salil).
The novel was written by Jarasandha who based his stories
on his real life experiences as a jailor. He also wrote
the story of Bandini.
> Ahwan 61 and
Only one Rabindrasangeet in this movie 'he sakhaa
baraataa peyechhi mane mane' - a duet by PankajM
and Kanika Banerjee.
> Bighalita Karuna Jahabi Jamuna 1972
The correct name is 'Bigalita Karuna Janhabi Jamuna'.
AFAIR, the film had only one song, a Rabindrasangeet
'ananda dhaaraa bahichhe bhubane' by Kanika Banerjee.
The movie's story was a travelogue like Yatrik/Mahaprasthaner
pathe. The title of the movie is taken from a line
of the Rabindrasangeet 'ayi bhubana mana mohini'
that praises different facets of the motherland.
The movie's title compares rivers Ganges and Yamuna
with a mother's milk to its infant.

Actually, HFGK vol 3 edition 2 tells the whole story. The 19 songs in
this movie had music by various original MDs (Boral, Mullick, Baran,
Naushad etc.) and the background music for this compilation film was
given by apresh lahiri. Interestingly this film included 3 hitherto
non-filmi Saigal songs. So from now on we can say that the following 3
songs are in Amar Saigal (1955)!
1. panchii re kaahe hot udaas
2. kaun bujhaave raam
3. jhulanaa jhulaavo rii
I am aware that song 9 from tuufaanii tama.nchaa (1935) has the same
wording as 3, but not having heard the song, I cannot say if the SAigal
one here is a version song. I am guessing that it is a classical thingy.
