As promised here are the answers to the quiz that I had posted.
If you folks think that this is a good idea, we can have this
on a regular basis. Someone can post a quiz once a week and
let the others mail him/her the answers, so that it can be graded
and we can just have friendly competition and theme quizzes too.
Can someone with the time and inclination set the ball rolling.
I'm sure that they'll be a good response.
Anyway few people dared to try out my quiz and got a few questions
right. Many of these answers might be surprising, but are 100 % true
and authentic. So pleez direct ur flames to me personally, and not
on the net.

It was the multilingual CHANDRALEKHA (of the famous drum dance fame)
that was the first All India Box office hit (verified using
Limca Book of Indian records).
2. Who played the role of Professor Godhbole in " The Passage to India " ?
Okay, a googly. It was not an Indian actor, but the inimitable
Sir Alec Guiness as someone pointed out rightly. Victor Baneerjee
played Dr.Aziz in the movie.
3. The movie " Anand " has two dedications associated to it. Name them ?
Dedicated to RAJ KAPOOR and the CITY OF BOMBAY.
4. Who composed the music score for "Shakespheare Wallah" ?
Someone got this right - Satyajit Ray!
5. Who gave Arun Govil the Crown that he wore in "Ramaayana " ?
This was an easy one I guess - N.T.R.
6. Once R.D. Burman claimed that S.D. Burman plagiarised one of his
tunes. Name the song and movie. ?
The toughie I guess, The song : Aai meri Topi Palat Ke from Funtoosh.
7. What record did Meena Kumari set in the 1962 FilmFare awards function ?
All the three best actress nominations went to her for Aarti,
Main Chup Rahungi & Saheb Bibi Aur Gulaam, for which she won it.
8. Easy one - Name India's first Cinema Scope Film ?
Guru Dutt's Kaagaz Ke Phool. Surprisingly, no one got it.
9. Who Played the male lead in Manirathnam's first film " Pallavi Anu
Pallavi " ?
Anil Kapoor. Suhasini featured no where in the movie and Manirathnam
was not making the Crying Game.
10. Who scored the music for the silent Classic - Pushpak ?
L.Vaidyanaathan, a great talent who has always been in the shadow of
his illustrious brothers.
