Nigar Sultana No More

The well-known actress of yesteryears n wife of K Asif is no more. She
died of leukaemia at Jaslok Hosp on the 23 Apr 2000. She leaves behind
three children. She was born IN Hyderabad on 21st June 1932. She shone
in her first film Bazaar which was produced n directed by K Amarnath.
She was such a great actress that she performed with great versatility
with her roles in HS Rawail's Patanga, RK's Aag, Mastana, Sunhere Din
and many others. She acted with great actors too the likes of Motilal,
Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor and her last being Mughal-e-Azam.
May her soul rest in peace n God give courage to her children.

I have a faint recollection that she was there in a
pivotal role in the Sohrab Modi film "Sheesh Mahal"
where Nasim Bano was the leading lady.
