There was one called 'sazadaa' but that came out in 91 or 92 I believe.
Some good ones I liked in that were

Chitra Singh dusnt sing ... His album this yr was "Sacchi Baat" ... almost all
the songs are really good ... Worth listening ! Excellent lyrics too !

You are probably talking about "Sajda". I think it is a two cassete
set. I am sure there is a cd too. I personally didn't like it much.
Jagjit's earlier albums were much better. But then tastes do differ!

Sajda. I wentto a CD store over here in a few months ago and found a CD with
their songs on it that I had never heard of. Though I may be wrong, I am
pretty sure that the CD was from the movie "nargis" and has music by Jagjit
Singh. A friend of mine who was with me said it wasn't so good, so I didn't
buy it.
I got Jagjits latest album a few months ago. Can't remeber its name, but it
has one really good ghazal "jeevan kya hai, cahlta phirta ek khilona hai....
I haven't heard the entire album so I can't comment on it. One thing that I
have realized is that I really miss Chitra. even though her voice was nothing
compared to Jagjits, her presence brought a certain kind of chemistry to their
albums that I find lacking in his solo work. It seems that he has become more
of a pop star now, realeasing one album a year and having one or two great
songs but not much more. plus recently a lot of the songs have been sounding
the same. i wish they would get back together. as an alternate, i started
listening to bhupinder and mitalee recently (i highly recommend their album
"mohabbat")- they have the same kind of chemistry that J and C had- and both
of them have great voices. There's a CD out called "pyaar na toote" ghazals of
love by J and C and Mitalee and Bhupinder, about 6 by each. Its a great
selection of both of their music and bery enjoyable- Gaurov

Btw, MD for Nargis is one Basu Chakravrthy I think. It has only one song
by Jagjit -- - Main Kaise KahOON Jaaneman,
mera dil sune teri baat,
yeh aankhon ki siyaahi, yeh hoton ka ujaala,
yehi hain mere din raat.
Listen to it and decide for yourself.
Btw it has a great song by Lata -- Arre tuu pawan basanti, ...
and one of those "numbers" songs that Asha used to do and still (seeing
this cassette ) is capable of doing.

This is in continuation to my posting about the "Insight" CD featuring
ghazals/nazms by Nida Fazli.
Jagjit fans will remember Nida Fazli as the shayar of the following
two ghazals in Sajda:
1. dhoop mein niklo, ghataaoN meiN nahaakar dekho
zindagi kyaa hai kitaaboN ko hataakar dekho
and
2. har taraf, har jagah, beshumaar aadmi
phir bhi tanhaaiyoN ka shikaar aadmi

There have been 3 casettes of theirs that have come out
They are:
Insight: Jagjit
Face to Face: Jagjit
Rare gems Ghazals: Jagjit - Chitra, their Earliest recordings
Yu definitely miss chitra singhs voice in the first two albums but
as with all other albums of Jagjit, its still excellent.
The last one is a collection of their ghazals - which were released
frm 1966 onwards (did yu realise he was there since then ?), and
they were released on LP's and now they have retrived them and
brought them out in the form of Casettes and CD's.. It is an
excellent Collection (2 casette series) and includes some rare
gems like
"Apna Gham bhul gaya...."
"Bas ki dushvar hain...."
"Uski Hasrat hain jise dil se bhula bhi na sakun..."
"Saaquiya hosh kahan tha Maikhane mein....."
and a lot of those older ones
I recommend it to everyone - who is a fan of J/C
Another thing, I am an ardent fan of theirs and have the lyrics
of almost all of Jagjit Singhs Ghaazals and am most enthisiastic
about sharing them with anyone who needs them. The albums I have

disappointing album. This seems to be a cheesy attempt
to cash in on Sajda's huge success. They have recycled some of
Jagjit's ghazals from "In Step" and other albums with some

Recommendation - Skip this).

You bet! I am a real fan of Jagjit Singh / Chitra Singh. And that album
you were talking about is SAJDA, by LATA and JAGJIT.
A few months back, I had posted lyrics for all the ghazals with its
p-stats from SAJDA. It had some beautiful poetries.
I can post them again if anyone is interested.
