OPN himself admitted to a fan that he wrote lyrics under pen name Noor Dewasi("is naachiiz ko Noor Dewasi kahate hai"). For those who can read Marathi here is a link to an article by the same OPN fan. I am surprised how this fact remained a secret for so long?

Noor Dewasi belonged to Dewas.. and OPN was not Noor Dewasi for sure..

It is neither - it is simply that the original poster has misread the article. All that happened is that the writer of the article met Noor Dewasi at OPN's house.

Here is the gist of what the relevant portion of the article actually says: when the writer went to meet OPN, another man was sitting there. OPN quoted a particular line of poetry. Later, both the other man and the writer left together. In the lift going down, the writer expressed his appreciation of the line quoted by OPN, and the other man said, "I wrote that - my name is Noor Dewasi."

Abhay Phadnis is right. I misread the original article.Noor Dewasi and OPN are different persons. Thanks for all those who participated in the discussion. I was away from my computer hence the delay in posting.
