Thanks UVR!Its as I expected of two different Suktas.The hiranyagarbha
suktha shouldve been obvious but it didnt strike me!

You mention "puruSha suukta" among the others attracting scrutiny and
praise from several scholars. In the "Intro to Philo" class I took many
years ago, this suukta was debated. The instructor said that there was a
school of thought that believed very strongly that this suukta was inserted
much later to legitimize the male dominated society. I never followed that
with references or such because that was not my primary major, but havent
stopped thinking about it.

Do you know of any sources/references that allege the same?
