Hajir hun mein aapke darbaar mein. I have "ANSWERS and RESULTS" of
the quiz "Zindagi Ka Safar". I have prepared this in a hurry so
please excuse me if there are any mistakes :)).
Thanks everyone for participating in the quiz "Zindagi Ka Safar"
which was posted on Oct 13, 1996 as a tribute to one of the great
artists "Kishore Kumar" hindi film industry has seen. I don't
think there is/was any film personality who worked in different
aspects of film-making then Kishore Kumar. There will be many
artists, there will be many singers but there won't be another
Kishore Kumar.

There is not a unique solution for many of the questions. I really
appreciate everyone for listing the alternate solutions for the quiz
questions as well. Some were a big surprise for me :)). I have'nt

1. Believe it or not Kishore Kumar undisputed :-) greatest singer of all
times made a movie in which there were no songs.

Movie: Door Wadiyon Mein Kahin
Ashok> 'Door Waadiyon Mein Kahin'. It's the last film completed by Kishore.
('Mamta Ki Chhaon Mein' was completed by Amit Kumar.) Not only did it not
have songs, more impressively it had no music whatsoever. Natural sounds
like wind, birds, etc. are used cleverly.
Balaji & Malini> Another interesting sidelight about this movie is
that it also didn't have any conventional background music.
All the background effect was created through natural sounds.
This was probably only the second movie after Shantaram's
"duniya na mane" to go for this.
Abhay> I am sure that movie has the greatest playback score by KK, your
undisputed greatest singer :-) Which one is it ? I must watch it !!

Is it "Door gagan ki chhaaoN me" ? :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) I don't rem the
movie name, but I think there was no background music as well ! Only
the sounds of wind, river etc etc. No manmade music. Right ?

The only other such combination I know is Mukesh-Manna De!
Mukesh sung first for Manna De in Chamki (1952) and then Manna De for Mukesh in
Anurag (1956).

I guess Awaara (1951) also had three Kapoor generations in it. RK, Prithviraj

A little confusion here. Alagh-Alagh was perhaps formally not
produced by Rajesh Khanna (i think his name does not appear in the credits).
I think the film had 2 producers. One of them was Jimmy Narula his close
friend. Was Rajesh the other? Was Alagh-Alagh an "Aashirwaad" films
production. If so then it is their first production. Alagh-Alagh had
Kaka donning the black "chaadar/shawl" growing a stubble and singing
in the lush fields "Dil mein aag lagaye saawan ka mahina" for Tina
Munim in obviously "THE" voice. Very stupid film. There was a spate
of Kaka-Tina starrers at that point of time.

1) Do bechare bina sahare (Film: Victoria 203).
2) Jhoomti raat jawa jagmagata hai yahan (FIlm: Duniya; Asha Bhosle

Now I want to say something which is quite out of the context in the
sense that here we are discussing about Hindi film music, but I am
going to mention a Bengali song (sung by Kishore) which consists the
word "Kishore". Actually this is a somewhat autobiographical song of
Kishore Kumar ; the song goes like "Naam amaar Kishore Kumar Ganguly".
By the way, this is a non-filmi song.

Yes, in Bengali. The Bengali version of the film "Aradhana" has a song
by RD. He sang the Bengali version of "Bagon mein bahaar hai".
Unfortunately I do not remember the Bengali lyrics of the song. By the
way, the other Rafi song in Aradhana "Gun guna rahe hai " (with Asha)
was sung by Kishore (with Asha) in Bengali "Gunjore dole je bhramor
sur tole je urde urde".
Rafi did sing some Bengali songs in the last part of his life - most
of those songs were composed by Shyamal Mitra
(MD of Amanush and Anand Ashram).
Have you heard the following combination :
(i) Lata sings for Kishore (as MD) ?
(ii) Kishore sings for Lata (as MD) ?
Ans.:- I do not know any hindi song but the above combination does
exist in Bengali.
(i) "Bhalobasa-r agun jwele chole jeo na"

miss it. Especially "Priyotamo, ki likhi tomaay" is an absolute gem.
The Lata's album is known as "Priyotamo, ki likhi tomaay", where you
can find both the songs mentioned in (i).
For the Kishore's song you look for the cassette "Nayan saroshi keno
bhorechhe jal-e". Both the cassettes have some brilliant songs (some
of which you may have heard as they have Hindi or Marathi versions).

There is at least another song where Kishore sang for Shammi Kapoor -
the song featured in the HMV cassette "Kishore sings for 16 heros". I
forgot the song, the film is most probably "Wanted" (MD: Bappi
Lahiri). Anyway, we can better forget this song.
