Do you remember any songs with sarcasm written all over? Typical
scenario for such a song would be when the hero (or more often, the
heroine) is ditched by the lover in favour of another partner. So the
spurned lover (usually still in love with the ex-partner) would choose
the first occassion to come face to face with the new couple and sing a
song that gives vent to the hurt feelings.
A couple of such songs come to my mind right away. The singers
(Lata, Asha, Rafi.. who else?) have carried the slant so beautifully in
these!
1. Puchho Na Hame, Hum Unkay Liye (Asha : OP: Mitti Me Sona)
2. Rangila Re ( Lata : SDB )
3. Diye Jalaye Pyaar ke ( Lata : LP: Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke)
4. Ajeeb Dashan Hai Ye ( Lata: SJ : Dil Apna Aur Preet Parayee)
5. Aaj Ki Raat Mere ( Rafi : Naushad : Dil Diya Dard Diya(?))
6. Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye Humdum ( Lata: SJ : An Evening in Paris)
More additions, please.
Thanks,
Pradeep

doesnt seems to fit ur criteria.

How about the following lines? Are they sarcastic enuff?
"Mere mohabbat ko thukra do chahe,
mein koi tumse na sikwa karunga,
Aankhon mein rehti hai tasvir teri
Sari umar tere pooja karoonga"
(Dil ke jharokon mein from Brahmachari)
"Zindagi sirf mohabbat nahin kuchh aur bhi hai
.....
Bhuk aur pyas ki maari hui ish duniya mein
Ishq hi ek haqeekat nahin kuchh aur bhi hai
Tum agar ahein churao to yeh haq hai tum ko
Maine tumse hi nahin sabse mohabbat ki hai"
(Tum mujhe bhool bhi jaao from Didi)

If you're talking about "venting", how can anyone forget
"Mere Dushman Tu Meri Dosti Ko Tarse" from "Aaye Din Bahaar Ke"
or
"Na Aadmi Ka Koi Bharosa" from "Aadmi"?

"ta.Dap ta.Dap ke is dil se" from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam could fit your
criterion. I don't rememeber its picturization, but while listening to
this song I think the singer (Kay Kay, I believe) carries the sarcasm
in the second stanza really well. The stanza begins with "agar mile
Khudaa to".
Another song that comes to mind which is rather ironical in nature
rather than sarcasm, is "mere dil kii baat tuu hii nahii.n jaane" from
kaash. I would like to assert however, that I don't remember this song
particularly well. So you may want to take it as a weak pointer.
Hema.

Hema,
I don't really hear any sarcasm in that song. What comes through is
the pain and, especially, the passion. The passion in the music,
the lyrics and the singing makes this my favorite song in a dynamite
soundtrack. The picturization is spectacular, just like all other
songs in this film, and depicts the pain felt by both. However, in
the film, the song is cut off after the first antara.

Hi Pradeep,
AFAIK the scenario you have outlined does not fall in the purview
of sarcasm. The feelings are of self-pity (martyrdom in case the
hero gave her up willingly) on one hand and attempting to make the
other party guilty on the other. A classic song of this scenario
is from Khilona starring Sanjeev Kumar, Mumtaz and Shatrughan Sinha -
Khush rahe tuu sadd ye duaa hai merii,
bevafaa hii sahii dilarubaa hai merii
Some of the other songs that have been mentioned in this thread also
fall under scenario (but not sarcasm).

One or two songs I CAN think of which border on sarcasm are
"salaam kiijiye aalii janaab aaye hai.n" (from Aandhi?) and
"aa bataa de.n ye tujhe kaise jiyaa jaataa hai"
"tum ho kitane shariif aur kitane mahaan...tum jaano to jaano yaa ham
jaane"
In "dil kiiuma.nge.n hai.n javaa.N" Geeta Dutt is quite sarcastic about
Pran's singing abilities (vaah vaah, gaaiye na and so on). But here
again, it is the villain here who is at the receiving end.
Unlike the situation described by Pradeep, all are mocking the villain
of the piece. There probably are a few others which are in a similar
vein.
More if I recall.
Vijay
What about
"Jiske liye sabko chhoda usi ne mere dil ko toda.
Woh bewafa kisi aur ke saajan ki saheli ho gayee".
It should fit the situation as hero is mocking the treachery
of heroine in front of another hero/villain.
Another one that comes to mind is ,
"Tumhe apana saathi banaane se pahale, meri jaan mujhako
bahut sonchana hai" from Pyaar Jhukta Nahi Hai.
---- Abhi.
