EMI Pakistan does exist anymore.
It is free for all now.
Every CD/DVD generally is pirated.
Even Radio Pakistan or PTV do not pay
royalty to anyone.
There are PIRATES in every field, incl.
the Government of Pakistan.

Irfan

I am after a couple of their official releases:

Best fo Mehdi Hassan
Greatest Hits of Aziz Mian Vol.2
Vital Signs 2

There must be some place that still has stock of these plus other
legitmiate EMI Pakistan CDs

To the best of my knowledge, EMI Pakistan closed their shop many years
ago.
They stoped making tapes (LPs were discontinued a decade earlier than
that)
around 1998 or so. Shrimati (based in California + has a web-site)
bought some
left-over stock of tapes (year 2001 info) and were listing it on a
seperate page

Naghma House Store on Lexington Ave, New York City was their official
distributor in USA. The shop was there until mid 2004. However, Javed
the owner,
will demand customer's first born baby, before he will agree to sell
anything (Lala ji
Ki Jaan, Aaj Aaya Hai Kaabu, Paise Zara Lana, Lana, Aaj Pehli Tareekh
Hai)

EMI Pakistan CDs are made by SIRROCO company, based in London
and are available in USA

thanks to all for very helpful replies.

Surjit - thanks for suggesting Shrimati's website, I did not see the
titles in their list but I will mail them and see if they can help.

Sudhir - do you mean to say that EMI Pakistan CDs are still produced
under the SIRROCO label and are still available?

I have a very close friend in Pakistan who has the complete stock of
EMI CDs ( he was the authorized distributor in Pakistan ) and
cassettes. He also has contacts with EMI in the Europe and can sell
them officially.

The quality of songs is just superb.

KCP - that is excellent news! Can you please provide the contact
details for your friend? I take it the CDs would be exactly as you
would expect to buy in the shops with original art work etc

Hi KCP,

Are you able to share your friend's details to enable me to buy the EMI
