Hi
Mehndi Rang Lagyo and Akhand Saubhagyavati are old HMV/EMI classics so they
would obviously not be featured on a cd album released by Polygram.
Polygram started as Polydor India in 1974 after affiliating with Philips
International. then came Music India in the '80s and now Polygram.

Hi Kanti,

Thanks for the song list. A couple of quick comments.

First, 10 is too few to justify a full CD! I mean this
is after all a compilation. They could have easily added
at least 4 or 5 more songs (correct me if I am wrong - I
think most of these songs are from the late 60s to 70s
time frame and are probably about 5 minutes in length).

I do not think most of the songs were previously freely
available. At least not in tape or CD form!

I am not familiar with many of the songs. However, I
love 'kaanuDaa tori govaalaN'. Lovely melody sung very
very well by Lata. I am not too fond of 'dikarii to
paarakii thaapaN kahevaay' although it was extremely
popular in its time. Of the Asha songs, I recall only
the 'saa.mbeluu' song. A folk melody sung quite well.

Lastly, does the CD give p-stats? If so, could you
please post them? Thanks.

C

Dear Chetan

Unfortunately, the CD does not give any more information other than listed in
my original post. Smiling faces of both the sisters on the cover are
pleasing to the eyes.
