I have just started learning Tabla and am on the lookout for a list of
popular Hindi film songs set on each of the following Taals - TeenTal,
Dadra, Keharva, Rupak, JhapTal, EkTaal - and are preferably not terribly
difficult to play.

I have tried searching the various online sites - hindi films, classical
music, tabla specific, etc but have not been able to find more than just
a few examples. After a few renditions of Man Tarpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj
- the "man" starts "tarping" for a little variety .....

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

kulpreet.

Here are a few suggestions that might help you:

(1) Sawan Aaye Ya Na Aaye - (raga sarang) - has beautiful beats in Teentaal,
Sitar Khani and Keharwa.
(2) Aansoo Bhari Hai Ye Jeevan Ki Rahe , by Mukesh in Jhap Taal.
(3) Baharon Phul Barasaon - By Rafi - Dadra
(4) Hai Eesi mein pyar ki aabro , sung by Lata and composed by Madan Mohan
in Roopak.
(5) Piya Tose Naina Lage Re sung by Lata from film Guide is set to Deep
Chandi.

I am sure there are hundreds of songs specially in Kaherwa and Dadra.

Kishor

I havent gone thru the entire song, from whatever piece I read,
you have mixed 'z' & 'j' at places.
In title Hazi should be 'Haaji' (one woh has performed Hajj),
Roj => Roz (daily)
Faiz => bounty
mubtaza => Murtaza ( Another name for Hazrat Ali)

Hello Music lovers and teachers. I am in need of help, to continue enjoying singing, at random, the songs of 40s, 50s etc. I am Arjun Dhawan, nearing 80 based in Mumbai. Very fond of singing vintage songs and sing pretty well. I have purchased a High Quality, CTK 860IN, which has more than 30 Indian Taals.
How to find suitable Taal for my favourite Saigal, Noor Jehan, Suraiya, Rafi, Mukesh, Jagjit, Mehdi Hasan songs, is my problem and will appreciate any advice or help. You may call me on 09819861138. Thanks and regards.

Hey, I am Rajesh.and learning music..www.chandrakantha.com web site has this information. its hard way round. you have to go through taal to list of songs.
so you need to search popular taals first that is Dadra, Kehrva, rupak etc and search the songs list.
