need help - playing hindi film music on harmonium

hello everyone,
I like listening to old and semi-old hindi film music, and have always
wanted to play songs on a musical instrument like harmonium or guitar. I
have a good working knowledge of harmonium. If someone could tell me where
I could procure the musical notes for hindi film songs, that would be
really great! Any kind of help/advice/directions would be welcome. I am
based in the US, and internet resources would be the best for me.

Few years back I bought couple of books from Pune, India. I got them
from Navadikar Musicals, which is on Tilak Road, Opp. S.P. College.
One is "Filmi Shastriya Geet Ank". It has 52 Hindi Film songs based on
Classical music.

The other is for Marathi Bhaavagite. This has 51 Marathi songs,
catagorized as simple, medium and difficult. Both these books will be
good basis for practicing songs on Harmonium (or any other
instrument). I would suggest you obtain such books from any source
who can locate these or similar books.

If you are desparate and dedicated, I may photocopy/scan some sample
songs, one song at a time and E-mail you, to see how you like them.

I have a book 'Harmonium Guide' written by Arvind Gajendragadkar. It
has notations for Hindi songs. Although the book is in Marathi, there
shouldn't be any problem with the notations.
This book is available in most of the book stores/music stores in
Mumbai/Thane/Pune.

I myself was looking for something similar and had posted his some
time back on rmim ! If you do a google groups search for the word
harmonium you would find some threads which offer some help.

I do not think any body would be able to help you as I am also trying to get the same for old hindi songs, particularly, rafi, Talat Mahamood and Lata Mungeskar. But you will find some of our Indian country men with big blog given a detailed list of song for which notations are available. But when you click nothing happens to their blog. One of them is an engineer from Bhopal- a hopeless fellow. If you able to get one please let me know also. my email is there

I fully agree. A number of websites claim that they have given song notes of old songs of Rafi and Talat. But when you go to the site you see nothing.
