can any of the gurus on the net enlighten me with the names of the films
in which dilip kumar and sanjeev kumar co-starred. I was told that there
are 2 of them - one in the 60s and another in the 80s. The 80s film was a
mulit starrer made either by b.r. chopra or subash ghai. Can some one
post it to this newsgroup or send me mail at su...@iti.gov.sg. thanks.

Dilip and Sanjeev kumar acted in Vidhaatha together. The film was released
around 1980-81 and also starred : Sanjay Dutt, Shammi Kapoor, Padmini
Kolhapure and Amrish Puri.
I think Subhash Ghai directed it and BR Chopra produced it. I am not sure
about the 60's film that you refer to. Vidhaatha is worth seeing if you have
the opportunity.

Sunjay Dutt and Padmini Kolhapuri.

In 80's the movie was Vidhaata which had
Dilip Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Amrish Puri
Story revolve around gangsters and old classic formula
of revenge, Good powerful acting by Sanjeev and Dilip kumar.
directed by Subhash Ghai, music by Lakshmi Pyare.

In 60's H.S. Rawail's Sangarsh which had Balraz Sahni,
Dilip Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Jayant (Amjad Khan's father)
Vjantimala, the movie is about the Benarasi Thugs and the
time of the movie is about 1800's. Very well made with
great Songs by Naushad Ali.

It had the song

'Mere pairon mein Ghungroo bandha de'
'to phir meri chaal dekh le'

Good Movie, better than Vidhaata.

Dastak had Sanjeev Kumar alright with Rehana Sultan, but Dilip is misiing.
The movie you are refering to is, I believe, Sunghursh. I have the audio
tape of this one 'coz the MD is Naushad but I havent watched the movie yet.
The audio shows Dilip with Vyjaintimala.

Dastak under Madan Mohan has that wonderful bandish ( vidwaanoN kii vaani:)
"BaiyyaN Na Dharo, O Balma" one of my favourite Lata solos. The movie is
about a newly-wed couple coming to stay in a 'badnaam' gali in the ex-house
of a naachne-waali, the various vexations they have to go through until
peace reigns. There is also the Madan Mohan ballad I forget the beginning
with some eerie music. I wud'nt go to sleep with this one playing :)
The movie otherwise is worth the rental you pay to the local desi-store.

Biju.
