Probably Shantaram's first wife was not from the film
industry. So Jayashree would be considered the second
wife.

Thanks for the inforemation.

I googled about Jayshree/Jaishree/Jayshri/Jaishri, and there
is not a single news item about her departure even at 10:30
PM on Oct 14.

May her soul rest in peace.

Shantaram's first wife is Vimal Vanakudre (I am not sure if she is still
alive); she is Jasraj's m-i-l. Jayashree was the second wife; Sandhya was
no. 3 (not sure if they married - not that it matters!).

Death of Jayashree not reported in any of the newspapers in Calcutta. A
shame indeed. Did she die in Bombay? Who were at her bedside? Any
reports?

Interesting use of "so". If Shantaram's first wife WAS from
the film industry, what would Jayashree be?

Jayshree was wife No2.
SV could not get married to Sandhya as the law came in the effect and
the first wife was still living.

Jayashree got divorce and was living with brother of Walchand Seth. I
forget his name. He had a curly moustaches as I remember.

you can read a lot about her in Shantaram's autobiography.
