I was watching the movie "Anand" recently and noticed that in the last scene
(Rajesh Khanna dies and the tape starts playing - "Babumoshai....") the
tune of "Koi hota jisko apna hum apna kah lete yaaron" from "Mere Apne"
played as a refrain. Was the music composed by the same person in both
movies? The reason I ask is that there has been a recent discussion on this
net on poets quoting from other poets as a mark of respect - do composers
also put in tunes of other composers? (in such a context, that is - not
lifting tunes and putting them to other words!)
Also, a similar question with respect to two old songs. Has anyone
noticed the striking similarity in tune in the chorus of these two songs:
"Teri duniya me dil lagtaa nahin, waapas bula le" - Mukesh (Bawre Nain)
and
"Mere mehboob shaayad aaj kuch naaraz hai mujhse" - Lata (film?)

Not Lata. Chandrani Mukherjee in 'Kitne Paas Kitne Door`.
