"Bumbro, bumbro…." -- the music and even some of the lyrics
are taken from a 50 year old Kashmiri song. The details can be
found in the Subah Aaj Tak 0800 hours video for
November 17, 2000. See the following link:

why is it that bollywood music has been stealing tunes from all over the
world for years, and it has no one has bothered to take the slightest bit of
notice, and this one song is causing so much uproar? is it because the
copying finally hit home? even in the past, movie music has been copied
from other movie music... why wasn't there a fight caused then?

so what if the song is based on kashmiri folk song. but of course the
audio release shld have mentioned that. guess not everyone is honest.

i am happy as long as i get to hear kashmiri folk music (and people get
to hear it and love it too)......isnt it the first time its become so
popular after bits of it in kashmir ki kali, and the tv serial
gul-gulshan-gulfaam?

The song is supposed to be based upon a popular folk song from Kashmir
anyway.. so what is your point. Folk songs cannot be included or
acknowledgements must be given?
I dont believe the music director is claiming it is his original
composition.
