I reached a little late and as I entered, I saw four artist sitting on chair
and six on various instruments - all wearing dark glasses.
Three sitting artists were singers and the forth was emcees.
They sang old and new songs. It blew my mind after listening to
singing quality and the harmony between everyone.
Emcee alluded that on a stage, there is a director or artists
communicate via eyes, hand gesture. But these guys had no
such luxury. In addition, on the screen behind them, video clip of
the song from movie was played. What was amazing was the lip
synching of the singing with the video. There was never a moment
anyone was out of sync or harmony.
One singer Shravan Kumar was amazing. He was apparently in
a Sony contest but had to drop out and join the tour.
His range just reminded of Rafi. He sang one song in female voice.
To top it off, he sang a duet of Rafi-Lata alternating between
male and female voice, just like Kishore Kumar in Half Ticket.
He beats Kishore Kumar hands down.
The flute player, Kishore has played flute for background music
for Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar Raj.
And the emcees. His powerful voice, jokes, sher with every word
rendered flawlessly for three hours. All musicians have degree in music.
Why am I writing this. I would highly encourage people to go see
them sing opportunity avails. What touched me was the line by the
emcees, "we don't want pity, we don't want sympathy, we just want
opportunity".

How come ? Genuinely puzzled
His mimicking of female voice and smooth transition between the two.
One has to listen.
Intersting to know that Shravan Kumar has speech problem.
He did not say anthing here so we did know about it.
When he sang female song in NJ., my daughter and
I looked at each wondering who was singing becasue
there was only one feamle artists and she was not singing.
It was Shravan Kumar.
His redering of Rafi songs was just superb.
