Sometime ago a posting highlighted the funny results produced when
Hindi films ( particularly songs) are translated (subtitles) into
English. I think a collection of such translation will be hillarious.
Here are 3 so far...

Hindi Song Translation

1. Tera Muskurana Gazab dha gya You smile caused a disaster..
2. Khullam Khulla pyar karenge
hum dono We will make love in public..

3. Ankhon mein sharab hai, Balon
mein Gulal hai lekin wo baat Wine in your eyes;Color in
your hair....

Please add to the list any funny translations that you see when
watching movies...

This might be called 'picking nits'. So
forgive me, but I must point out that
a more faithful albeit not
as tongue-in-cheek a translation would be
"We will love (each other?) in the open."
As an aside, I don't think that Indian languages
have a phrase that corresponds to
"making love" and its cognates.
In this light, it might be
be interesting to explore erotic
phrases in Indian film songs. I will look
forward to any opinions that people
might have about this.

And here are two of my translations:

Parbaton se aaj main takra gaya, tum ne di awaz, lo main aa gaya!

I went and crashed into the mountains today,
You gave me voice, and now look what happened!!

Sawan ka mahina, Pavan kare shore
Jiyara Re Jhoome Aise, Jaise Banma Naache More

The season of Autumn(?), the wind is making noises,
Oh, my heart is swinging/dancing,
Like a Peacock in the forest!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
shouldn't that be "you gave voice, take I came"
