SILSILA Questions!!!

movie was released in 1983-84.
producer/director: B.R.Chopra. (Basically Chopra Family)
singers: Amitabh, Lata.
music director: Shiv Hari.
I would like someone to confirm the information.
As far as my memory goes the movie was a flop. There was a rumour at that
time regarding the relationship betwn AB and Rekha and the movie portrayed
the same. The rumour continued that if the movie turns out to be hit,
AB and Jaya will separate. They have not soo.....
Guys, this was a rumour and so all the AB, Rekha, and Jaya fans,
please do not come over me.

Hit status: The movie created sufficient
pre-release furore as Chopra
managed the casting coup of the
century, getting the real-life
protagonists (Amitabh, Jaya, Rekha)
to play the love triangle. This,
sensitive direction by Yash Chopra
and great music by Shiv-Hari in
their debut film made sure of the
success of the movie. Of course, it
wasn't the typical AYM Amitabh movie
and the business wasn't comparable.

Wasn't a hit. But recovered its cost. A beautiful movie. One of the
best Bachchan movies. Excellent acting performances by almost all actors/
actresses, especially Jaya. Lovely songs and music. This movie had almost
everything except the angry young man image of Bachchan (as in Zanzeer or
Deewar) or comedy (as in Namakhalal). Unfortunately, public accepted
Bachchan in only those kind of roles.
