Hello Folks, As a true fan of both Kishore Kumar and R. D. Burman, I have poste
d the 20 Kishore solos, which I think, are the best of the best that we have go
t from Kishore and RD together. I understand that a song or two from movies lik
e, Alag Alag, Bemisal, Lava or Sitamgar, could have been pushed into the herd.
But I like I said its the top 20 for me. I would like to get comments or maybe
a change in my Top 20 line up.. according to the other fans. Mail me at B66CC

I have it in one of the Anmol Ratan casset series by KK. The golden
collection of rafi you are talking is the one with 4 cassets and reg/Golden
cover?? (like Gold Flake cigareete box). which vol has it?
Someone was mentioning that it is both by KK and Rafi. Will definitely verify
tonight.

Yes this is the song which was sung by KK and Rafi both.

I had initiated a thread "Same song by 2 separate male or female singers"
a couple of weeks back where I had mentioned this as a song sung by 2
separate males singers(Rafi and KK).
This is one and probably the only instance of the 2 great singers
singing the same song (same tune, same pace) not together but
individually. There is one more song "Zindagi ek safar hai suhana" from
Andaz sung both by KK and Rafi, but the KK's version is at a faster pace
and Rafi's slower.
I am a hard core Rafian but when it comes to this song, I like the KK's
version better.

I verified. Both sang it.

You go home after a looong day in office and hit 'play'
on the taperecorder and the head is right above the favourite song
in the casset.
I got a big smile today that I have both these versions of song with me.
It is the song for one to TRY to observe objectively the skills/abilities of
both these. Damn it, did'nt know about this during the war days.
I am going to get back on this after multiple hearings.
Ofcourse no war, friends.

The song TUM BIN JAAON KAHAN is sung by both- Rafi and KK. Rafi
has sung it for Shashi Kapoor and KK has sung it for Bharat Bhushan.

PS: 'Julie' is not MDed by Pancham, it is Rakesh Roshan
and the song 17 - Main shayar badnam is from Namak Haram and not Namak
Halaal.

Nice thread.
What about "O mere dil ke chain" from Mere Jeevan Saathi? I think
that one should be in any top 20 of Kishore-RDB.
But as you have written, there are so many good ones of
Kishore-RDB that putting a top 20 is a tough task!
