Dosto,

I just came across this article. I was searching for a non-film song
and this article had it and many more of my favorites. However there
are some in this list that I have not heard. I would appreciate if
you could help me.

The article

The songs are:

1. shaam ke deepak jale, man ka diya bujh gaya
2. shyaam se neha lagaaye, radhe nir bahaaye
3. paar nadi ke deep jalaaye, baithi koyi baanwariya
4. do ghadi baitho tumhara roop aankhon mein basaa loon
5. hansa gagan beech roye
6. paagal chanda mere mann ki
7. gazab kiya tere waade pe aitbaar kiya
8. meri mohabbar qubool kar lo
9. paagal naina sagari raina, teri baat nihaare
10. kya yaad tumhe hum aayenge
11. tum geet ho solahve saawan ka
12. main kab gaata mere mann mein pyaar kissi ka gaata hai
13. iss dil se teri yaad bhulaayi nahin jaati
14. tere bharose hai nand-laala
15. more shyaam pal pal more mukh se nikle nisdin tero naam
16. paanv padu tore shyaam brij mein laut chalo
17. main gwalon rakhwalo maiyaa maakhan nahi churayo
18. suniyo araj hamaari
19. shaukh har rang rakibe saro sama nikla
20. dard minnat kashe davaa na hua

I need the following:

1. shaam ke deepak jale, man ka diya bujh gaya
3. paar nadi ke deep jalaaye, baithi koyi baanwariya
9. paagal naina sagari raina, teri baat nihaare
10. kya yaad tumhe hum aayenge
11. tum geet ho solahve saawan ka

I have the others and will gladly share if someone wants them

Finally! Thanks Prem-ji for bringing up this topic again. I am very
fond of Non-filmi Hindi Songs. I would like to add a few more songs
sung by various artistes to this list (I might've posted the list on
RMIM under different heading, so please bear with me if this is a
repetition)

Usha Mangeshkar:
woh jo khat tuune mohabbat me likhe the mujhko
chod aaye to hai.n unke mehfil magar, dil ke anmol moti wahi.n reh gaye
aaj ki raat na jaa, na jaa re

Asha Bhosle
madho re mai to tere dwaare jogan ban aaoongi
ambua ki daali pe bole koyaliya aaja balamuwa hamaar
giit kitne gaa chuki hoo.n is dukhi jag ke liye

Suman Kalyanpur
zindagii kii baa.nsuri par giit kaise gaa sakungi

Runa Laila:
jaa re jaa re kaaga, jaa re piya ke des
bolo bolo kaanha, bolo chaliyaa

Geeta Dutt:
hole hole hawaa dole, kaliyo ke ghunghat khule

Mubaarak Begum:
O jiine ki umange.n khatam hui, mitne kaa fasaana bhool gaye..

Warm Regards,

- Dinesh Krishnajois.

No harm done! By the way, you have posted only female singers' songs.
Actually I haven't heard most of them. I like a few nonfilm tracks by
Jagmohan (ye na bataa sakuu.ngaa mai.n, pyaarii tum kitanii su.ndar ho
etc.), Hemant Kumar (bhalaa thaa kitanaa, kitanaa dukh bhuulaayaa
tumane), Manna Dey (naach re mayuuraa, nathalii se TuuTaa motii re),
Mukesh (sur kii gati mai.n kyaa jaanuu.N) etc.

Do you have a recording of "bolo bolo..."? For the east coast Jaidev
commemorative we had used the recording from a TV program since we
could not get a copy of the original. There are two other great songs
by Runa Laila:

bole re papiiharaa
kaahe kiyaa maine pyaar re

Sticking to female singers, I have vague recollections of having heard
good songs by Sudha Malhotra, Minoo Purushottam, Dilraj Kaur, but
cannot recall a single track!

13. Is Dilse Teri.... I have heard and is a very nice one.

I think I have it. Will search.

Have not heard others in your NOT HAVE list so when some says WHAT are
these, I shall be eagerly waiting.

My uncle and aunt mentioned another beautiful bhajan by Runa Laila. I
have never heard it and they can't find it in their collection any
longer. The lyrics were 'Karne lage kanha maiyya maiyya' (or something
similiar). Has anyone heard it?

There is one I remember. A beautiful kajri by 'Sudha Malhotra' 'Nimbua
tale dola rakh do musafir'. Vish sings this very often in the RMIM
Meets. A beautiful song.

There are a couple of more that I really like by Geeta Dutt. Notably
'Jamuna ke teer kanha aao' a beautiful bhajan.

The 30s and 40s ofcourse are filled with great non-film music by people
like Pankaj Mullick (Tere Mandir Ka Hoon Deepak), Jagmohan, KL Saigal
etc.

Ritu
