help me with lyrics of "he ga.ngaa maiyyaa tohe piyarii chaDhaiibo"

I have listened to this be beautiful Bhojpuri song from "Ganga Maiya
Tohe Piyari Chadhaibo" number of times. However I have not been able to
decipher the words completely, let alone understanding the meaning of
it. I am posting here whatever little I could understand. I hope some
kind soul corrects mistakes, fills in missing words and explains the
meaning of the song.

I have "googled" this topic and could not get anything. The lyrics of
this song are not in giitaayan also.

I also have one more query. I have heard silimar song with same
mukhaDaa in Begam Akhtar's voice on Vividh Bharati long time ago and at
that time it was announced as "paara.npaarik rachanaa". I discussed
this topic with Ashok 2 years ago. He said the lyrics of the two songs
are different. However, I faintly remeber the words "gun avagun moraa
sab jag jaane" in Begam Akhtar's song also.

That helps to get the words correctly. However pthe problem of meaning
remains.

The song copy is a bit noisy (AJ will rightly say that the song is
clipped). I am using Giitaayan's lyric (Arunabha's) and the song mp3 to
approximately decipher all the syllables; here is my attempt to explain:

he ga.ngaa ma{}iyaa tohe piyarii cha.Dha{}ibo
sa{}iyaa.N se kara de milanavaa, haay raam
sa{}iyaa.N se kara de milanavaa ho raam

First, I will write maiyaa as ma{}iyaa and cha.Dha{}ibo (to match with
the way these words are pronounced). kari should read as kara.

Meaning: O Mother Ganga! I will offer Piyari (unclear to me) to You;
please avail a meeting with my lover. Haay Raam seems like an
interjection, I will find out the exact meaning later.

ga.ngaa nahaai suuraj pa{}iyaa laaga aa{}ii
*baa maaii* eke ma.Nganavaa ho raam

I took a bath in Your water and offered a namaskaara to Suuraj (Sun God)
(pa{}iyaa = feet, pa{}iyaa laaga aa{}ii = I fell at [His] feet). I only
have one wish in mind. (I changed naa to baa; baa is like "hai" of
hindi; maaii = Mother; the song sounds like baa to me and explains the
meaning). (Sometimes the ma.Nganavaa word sounds like as ka.Nganavaa as
well).

Neither I have any qualities, nor I have any karajii (loan-giver?). I
don't have any ornament either.

When my husband will open the veil and see me, then what excuse will I
make, O Raam! (It seems like the girl is without ornament and has an
issue that the husband will wonder where are the ornaments. That's why
she was talking of Karaji so that she can loan some ornaments?).

We have to come and go in one room only (koTharii = room); we also have
to live in the same room. My qualities (good and bad) areknown to the
whole world; including the house of husband (husband = pii -> piihara)
and my own a.Nganaa (house's courtyard).

Basically this girl seems to be worried about her future meeting with
her husband; and the 2nd paragraph hints at her poverty.

Reminds me of kaise manaa{}uu.N pi{}avaa gu.na mere ekahu naahi.n

It *is* a traditional 'chaitii' that I have heard it sung by BA and by
Shobha Gurtu; the lyrics of the Begum Akhtar rendition are given below.
Shailendra's lyrics borrow liberally from the original. From what I can
make out, the song is about the woman feeling that she is not worthy of
her lover but still wanting to be united with him.

I can't make out one word in the second stanza of the BA version - can
anyone help decipher it? The BA version is available on an album called
"Farmaaish" (the first album in a 3-part release of a private concert
held in 1957).

Sorry to follow up on my own post, but forgot to mention that the tune
too is borrowed from the original "parampaarik rachanaa".

Also, while the film song does sound good, I strongly recommend
listening to the BA rendition to understand how beautiful the original
version is!

striking. Are you sure that BA song does not have "gun avagun moraa sab
jag jaane" line? I vaguely remember having heard it.

I believe that film song is an authentic "paara.npaarik rachanaa",
which Shailendra or Chitragupta or film's producer/director decided to
use in the film in the original form.
Lyrist's name Shailendra is misleading here. The words in BA version
are simpler than the film song, indicating that original "paara.npaarik
rachanaa" has been modified or simplified.

All this is my opinion and I could be utterly wrong.

The version you heard on the radio may well have had
different/additional antaraa-s. The 'light classical' genres - dadra,
chaiti, kajri etc. - often have many antaraa-s that are selectively
used. I had written on RMIM long ago on the 3 different versions by BA
of the kajri "chhaa rahii kaarii ghaTaa" (I have subsequently heard a
fourth version by her!) - adding the different antaraa-s gives one some
6-7 stanzas totally.
