Hi. Yesterday during half-time of Superbowl between
Brancos and Falcons, Gloria had sung a song where the
beginning had very familiar 'Oye Oye - Oye Awwa' tune
of Tridev. Will somebody let me know if anyone (Indian
music Dirtector or Gloria) has copied from another.
Thanks.

Oye, oye is an old african folk tune that was copied in
tridev. It was in
'circulation'
much before tridev.
If you watch
Tridev, you will see in the dance sequence many guys
dancing as Africans.
(Similarly the Macarana tune is a Latin/tejano tune that
was copied in
both U.S.and
India).
Oye Oye is not an old african folk tune . It is a famous song
by Gloria Estafen ' Rythm is gonna get you' . It was released before
Tridev and was copied by Viju Shah for Tridev . Gloria is famous
for the great percussion in her songs which is liked
by Indian music lovers . Her other song 'Oye Mi Canto' was
copied by R.D Burman for the film 'Gurudev' starring Anil and
Rishi .

Hi Mo ,
Viju Shah had copied the music from Gloria Estafen's song 'Rythm is
gonna get you" . Gloria Estafen's music
is percussion heavy which is of liked by Indians. RD Burman had copied
another Gloria song 'Oye Mi Canto'
for the film Gurudev .
So stop speculating .
