Hi guys,

Asian Television Network is a channel that's been running multi-lingual TV-
programs for Indians in Toronto for several years... now, with TV Asia leaving
DSS in Jan'97, ATN has apparantly gotten a deal with a 18"Satellite company
called ALPHASTAR to start airing it's programs in the US.

Anybody familiar with this channel and their programming? Is it worth the effort
and money to try and switch from DSS to Alphastar for them?

In article <3290D3...@ix.netcom.com>, guri says...

I have been looking around for TV Asia substitute for a while.
During my search I found out that DSS is not comercially available in Canada.
(I guess US service providers can not bill in Canada, That's why they have lot
of clones with pirated L-cards/plastic card DSS systems in Canada.)

If that is true then may be a Canadian service provider may not be able to
provide the programming in US.
(I am not sure if ATN is Canadian or US service).

Let me know if you get any answers. (Cause TV Asia will not reply)

BTW: I was finally able to see/hear "Kisanwa" this weekend. Good stuff.

I used to watch ATN in India. It was a timepass channel. Shows lots
of filmi songs both old/new. I dont know whther it has anything to do
with T-series bt early morning it will be tough to watch Gulashan Kumar
singing/acting bjhajans.
