"Tum se jo dekhte hi pyaar hua" is partly in an ice-skating rink,
and partly on roller-skates. Film: Patthar ke phool, featuring Salman Khan
and (introducing) Raveena Tandon. Voices of SPB and Lata to Raamlaxman's
tune. The song is also notable for including a number of Bombay street names
in its lyrics. :-)

Let's start a new thread on the above topic too. I remember one such song
in Seeta Aur Geeta. Hema Malni is supposed to be on skates - except when
you see "her" from the back she is 6ft 10inches tall and has massive
shoulders. Clearly there were a lack of stuntwomen at the time.

What a coincidence, I'm watching (yes, I'm trying to new RISC
brain-manager, do 10 things at once!) .. anyways....

Pather ke Phool with Salman Khan and Raveena Tandon, Salman seems to be
skating by himself and I was impressed with how well he was skating, doing
the 360s, 720s etc...

tis all for now.

First came the bicycles, then the scooters and then the 3.0L twin turbo V6
engines. Then , washing machines tried to enter the scene and failed miserably.

Now it is the turn of roller skates.... what next ?

The Movie you are referring to is AA GALE LAG JAA. Music by RDB. I think its
one of better works of RDB, with the wonderful song,(or is it THE Skating Anthem? :))
"Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi, yun hi nahin dil lubhata koi", will always
be remembered as Kishore's and RDB's best. This song has 2 or 3 versions in the film,
One version is picturised on the Kid, with lata mangeshkar doing the playback, the
other two(one fast and slow?) picturised on Shashi, sung by KK.

I know at least two other songs from this movie. KK's excellent rendition of
"Na koi dil mein samaya.." makes it one of my favorite KK song. Then there is
this KK-Lata duet "Wada karo nahin ..", which is also good.

Cheers,
Arun

Exactly. I just couldn't remember the movie's name initially.

BTW, in the version picturised on the kid, there is a distinct voice
which couldn't be Lata's. Voice is too "kiddish".

One more song is "Tum ladki ho maiN ladka hooN" from "Maine Pyar Kiya".
Only one stanza is picturised with Salman and Bhagyashree
roller-skating. Bhagyashree falls down in the end and an intimate scene
follows.

Yeah, you are right. That song is :

o saathi chal,
mujhe leke saath chal tu,
le haathoN meiN haath chal tu,
o saathi chal.....

Here is another on from Aaa Gale Lag Ja(???????) definitely starring
Sharmila and Sashi Kapoor :

vaada karo, nahin chodo ge , tum mera saath
jahan tum ho wahan mein bhi hoon

Well you have most of it right except for the fact that the song was NOT
on an ice skating rink (puhleeeeze) and the whole song was on roller
skates(in a roller-skating rink and on the streets), except for the last few
seconds when they were on a taanga/ghora-gaadi.

btw, do they have ice-skating rinks in india??? I heard that there was
one in Calcutta, not sure though; also are inline skates ie roller-blades
available in india?

Another song on roller skate was "Hawa ke saath saath, ghata ke sang sang, O..saathi chal" from
Seeta Aur Geeta - picturized on Sanjeev, Hema. Music: R.D. Burman.

Also, in "Aa Gale Lag Ja" there are two more songs: "Wada karo, nahin chodenge tera haath.."
(Lata - Kishore duet) and "Na koi dilme samaya..." (Kishore solo), songs picturized on Shashi,
Sharmila and Shashi respectively on roller skates. Lyrics: Sahir Ludhianvi - one of the few
movies with R.D. Burman-Sahir combinations (Deewar and Joshila amongst others)

The singer was Sushma Shresht who also sang with Mohd. Rafi for "Re mama re mama re, Sun lo
sunatha hun thumko kahani" in Andaz starring Shammi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Rajesh Khanna (special
appearance - as a favor to G.P. Sippy for giving him the lead role in Bandhan). Another song
she sang with Mohd. Rafi was for "Kya hua tera wada.." from Hum Kisise Kum Nahin.

Methinks, now she has changed her working name and sings under the name of
