Nitin,
I gave you a ride to DC and this is what I get in return.
Just a simple guesswork on your part, but it could cost me my
job, my livelihood, my roti ...
I have very high regard for Shailendra but my Shailndra admiration is
to be viewed in the context of talking to folks
who insist on admiring Sahir for his simple, upmaa-rahit,
rhyming lyrics. I am then forced to point out that the leader
of that type of song-writers' union is not Sahir, but Shailendra.
And after all the membership in this union is not small.
Yogesh, Majrooh, Kaifi, JNA, JA, Neeraj, etc. all claim to belong
to the same rat-race.
I claim Shailndra had no less hits with masses than Sahir.
For clarity sake, let me repeat:
My GKS trinity members: Salil, Gulzar, KK, never participate
in any rat-race. They are diamonds in their fields. The delta
between each one of them and the seconds are as much or more than that
between diamond and 'whatever' comes second on the scale of hardness.

Diamonds in their fields ? Does GKS, by any chance, stand for
"Gali Ke Sher" ? Apani gali me to sabhi Sher hote haiN.
What's the big deal ? :-) :-)
- Abhay.
Couldn't help it. I just couldn't help it. :-)
