I recently heard a remix of the Asha and Kishore renditions of "tere bina
bhi kya jina" from _Muqadar kya Sikandar_ and found its quite enjoyable.
Both have deeper voices which allow for a different style than, say,
Lata-Mohd.Rafi duets. But while I can think of a number of
Lata-Mohd.Rafi duets off the top of my head, no Asha-Kishore numbers come
to mind. I would appreciate any suggestions, especially of more up-beat
or cabaret-style tunes.

Although both, Asha and Kishore sang fast, up-beat solo songs (and Asha is still
singing as in Rangeela!), even I can't think of their duets which are of this type.
A few of their duets which are of this type include, 'Hamako to yara teri yari', 'Aapake kamare mein koi rahta hai',
'Lekar ham diwana dil', 'ishka mera bandagi hai' etc. The other Asha-Kishore duets
which are popular, are more of 'slow' kind like - 'jaaneja dhoondhata fir raha
hoon tumhe raat din' or the title song from 'yeh vaada raha'. There seem to be
more of Asha-Rafi duets which are of up-beat or cabaret-style tunes such as the
songs from Teesari Manzil.

What about the SDB tunes for Dev Anand movies (haal
kya hai janab ka,...)? Also, there are must have been
dozens of cabaret songs rendered in the 70s/early 80s by
these two. Forgettable, but there (e.g. fifty fifty....).
Most probably with RDB's music.

Fifty Fifty has music by Laxmikant Pyarelal!
Please don't attribute such lousy music to RDB!!

HI!
One of the finest Asha-KK duets is AANKHON MEIN KYA JI, from the
movie Nau Do Gyaarah, composed by SDB. The pace set by both is really
fantastic- makes U feel breathless.
There are a couple of EXCELLENT duets in Funthoosh, which go like
this: ((composed by SDB))
1. Woh dekhe to inki inaayat
2. Humne kisi pe dore
The movie Jawani Diwani has 3 superb duets composed by RDB.
Any more additions?????

Some other great duets are in Chalti ka naam gaadi and Jhumroo.

While the CKNG duets are very popular (Haal kaisa hai and Mai sitaron
ka taraana) the jhumroo duets are ultimate. The two I know are:

Bhola bhola man mera, my favorite KK-Asha duet.
Babu sunte jaana

One of them is 'Jaanejaa dhoondhata fir raha hoon tumhe raat din....'(Randhir
Kapoor, Jaya Bhaduri) Which are the other two?

'Paying guest'(Dev Anand, Nootan) also had two good duets of Asha & Kishore-
1. Chhod do aanchal jamaana kya kahega
2. O Nigaahe masataana - although this song has just some 'taans' by Asha.

Another is "Nahin Nahin , Abhi Nahin Karo Intezaar" ... which is the 3rd one ?

Don't forget "Jhoome re Jhoome re Jhoome re Jhoome dil mera dil mera,
Patli Kamar Tirchhi Nazar, Wah re Wah, Kya Kehna Tera"

I love the brisk tempo of this song, and Asha Bhosle's bubbliness. But
Kishore Kumar takes the cake in this song - he sings for himself the
hero AND for the "dork" Anoop Kumar - and the way he changes his voice
and his little interludes (I think he goes off in Bengali at one
point...) are hilarious! The movie sequence for this song is funny to
watch!

One more famous Asha & Kishore duet which comes to mind is 'Hawa ke saath
saath' from 'Seeta aur Geeta.'(Hema Malini in double role) Both Asha and
Kishore have done a great job in this song. The expressions seem very natural.

This would be the second song after that Half-ticket song where
Kishore Da has sung a duet himself in two voices.

In fact, perhaps there is a third song where he has sung
in male and fakefemale voices himself. Could someone please confirm
that the following is also a Kishore-Kishore duet:

Song: munne ki amma ye to bata, tere bete ke abba ka naam kya hai
Picturised on: Dharmendra and Rajendranath (dressed as a female)
Film: Tum Haseen Main Jawaan
MD: SJ

The above song is from Jhumroo, MD=Kishore, starring KK and
Madhubala...I'm not sure of the lyrics, wouldn't be surprised if they
were KK too, sung by KK and Asha B.

Vintage RD..Asha has sung this song soooo *beautifully*! Although,
Kishore has only one line in the song, he fully captures the mannerisms of
playful Dev.

This one is a KK-lata duet.

This one is MDed by ever ignored pair KA ...and this song is
beautiful, especially the tandem(together) singing by the two
singers..quite originial in that respect, I think.

some KK-Asha duets which I particularly like :

Suniye, Kahiye..kahiye suniye - Baaton Baaton Mein
Aankhon aankhon mein hum tum ho gaye deewane - Mahal.

hi folks,

I would like to get the lyrics of a song which starts like this :

Hume to loot liya milke husn waalon ne,
kaale kaale baalon ne gore fore ballon ne

It's from a very old movie (b & w) and sung (on screen) by a comedian
of yester-years.

Any info/lyrics/pstats regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

It is a qawwaali from the film 'Al Hilal' ('58). Must be one of the very
last films of MD Bulo C. Rani. It is sung by Ismail Azad Qawwal and Party,
words are by Shevan Rizvi. You can find it in Golden Collection: Qawwalis
from Films cassette set.

NB: In the second line above, it is "gore gore gaalon ne" :)

This one is a Kishore-Lata duet as far as I know. From the film Ajnabee with
Kaka and Zeenat Aman, with music by (of course) RDB. Ajnabee has the following
songs to my knowledge -

1. Ik ajnabee haseena se yoon mulaaaqat ho gayi - KK
2. Hum dono do premi duniya chhod chale - KK/Lata (or Asha)
3. Bheegi bheegi raaton mein meethi meethi baaton mein - KK/Lata

Did I miss out any others?
