I've been looking for the lyrics to the song "Chupake Chupake raath din
aa.soo.n bahaanaa yaad hai" sung by Chulam Ali and from the movie
"Nikaah." I have not been able to find it anywhere on the web (including
the ITRANS song book). If you have or know the words, please send them.

Here is some info and lyrics.
This is one of the most famous GHazals of all times. Almost everybody
has heard it in Ghulam Ali's mesmerizing voice. He makes it sound
simply ultimate.
Bur irrespctive of his rendering, this GHazal has it's own place
in the history of Urdu Shayari. This fact is not a public knowledge.
The reason is not the number of "Sher"s it has. Or not even the fact
that it's one of those few GHazals, where all the "Sher"s are on
one single theme.
the reason is : It's THE FIRST GHazal where "mehboob" is not just
a "mehboob", she is an "aashiq" too !!! Read the sentence once
again and remember the "Sher"s of the GHazal. You will know what
it means !
This GHazal by the great Shayar Hasrat Mohani gave GHazal a new
meaning of love. Hence onwards it was not just the one-way traffic,
but rather a highway :-)
And even without that, the GHazal is a masterpiece of awesome Shayari.
Read on. I love the last Sher most, the "nazaakat" is killing !
chupke chupke raat din aasu bahana yaad hai
humko ab tak aashiqi ka wo zamana yaad hai
chori chori humse tum, aa kar mile the jis jageh
muddate guzari, par ab tak wo thikana yaad hai
do-pehar ki dhup me, mere bulane ke liye
wo tera kothe pe, nange paoN aana yaad hai
tujhase milte hi wo kuchh, bebaak (bold) ho jaana mera
aur tera, daatoN mein woh, ungali dabana yaad hai
tujha jab tanha kabhi paya, to ajrahe-lihaz (due to shyness)
hal-e-dil batoN hi batoN me jatana yaad hai
kheench dena wo mera, parde ka kona daf-a-tan (all of a sudden)
aur duppatte se tera, wo muNh chhupana yaad hai
aa gaya gar, wasl (milan) ki shab bhi kahi zikr-e-firaq (separation)
wo tera ro ro ke bhi, mujhako rulana yaad hai
bahazara iztiraab-o- sadhazara ishtiyaaq
wo tujhase pehale pehal dilka lagana yaad hai
berukhi ke saath sunana dard-e-dil ki dastaaN
aur tera hathoN me wo, kangan ghumana yaad hai !! simply great !!
waqt-e-rukhsat (separation) "alwida" ka labz kehene ke liye
wo tere sukhe laboN ka thartharana yaad hai !! killing !!
BTW, there are a few more "Sher"s. I am really ashamed of myself,
that I cannot remember them offhand. :-( More so, when I am not
very confident about many words. I am really very very sorry, for
myself. :-( :-( :-(

Try one of Ghulam Ali's numerous commercial recordings available on tapes and
CD. Chupke Chupke is one of his better known Ghazals and makes its appearance
on several recordings by GA.

Is "daf-a-tan" "all of a sudden"? I thought it was "several times." But

BEBAAK MEANS BOLD, and confident.
In the shair, the poet becomes bold on meeting his beloved, and she, in
turn, becomes shy:
aur tera daaNtoN me wo, ungali dabaanaa yaad hai
Consider the following shair by Iqbal:
dil soze say khaali hai nigaah paak nahiN hai
phir iss meiN ajab kya kay tu bebaak nahiN hai

bebaak = bold, shameless, outspoken, fearless
bebaaki = boldness
kahaa hai ghair ne tum se mera haal
kahey dayti hai bebaaki adaa ki

There are two more Shers I remember hearing from GHulam Ali, but which
are surprisingly not present in the book. They are also marvellous !

Out of the 15 couplets in the 'original' ghazal, Nikaah had only 4 ( at
the most 5 couplets in the movie.
If my memory serves me right they are :
1, (maybe 3), 4, 6 and 10.
