Just listening to 'tumhe ho na ho mujhko to' from Gharonda, and was wondering
...We have loads of song which convey the "main tum se pyaar karta/karti hoon"
feeling, but very few songs, [ In fact I could think of only one ] which
actually says 'mujhe pyaar tumse NAHIN hai'. Maybe one other song which comes
to mind is 'baaghon mein bahaar hai...tumko mujhse pyaar hai, NAHIN' from
Aaradhana but that again is more a lighthearted playful tone. Are there any
more songs of this genre?
Netters? Any ideas?
Renu.
: Netters? Any ideas?
: Renu.
Well that was a good observation. I also think the same way.
Although after thinking for a long time i think that i have
found out one more song of the same type.
It's a gem by Rafi.
"Phalsapha pyaa ka tum kya jaano
Tum ne kabhi pyaar na kiya
Tum ne intazar na kiya."
Have Fun

Hi its interesting.....
After having a long thought i came accross with one or two songs. But i am not
sure whether they exactly relates with issue you brought.
How about...........
1) "TERI ZULFEN PARESHA TERI NAZREN FASHEMA....
KAHIN YEH PYAR HI NA HO NASEEBEN DUSHMANA....."
Mohd.Rafi sings for film Preet Na Jane Reet.
Well it may be its the opposite..but the words "pyar hi na ho"
2) "MERE MAN KI GANGA AUR TERE MAN KI JUMUNA KA.....
BOL RADHA BOL SANGAM HOGA KI NAHIN.....NAHIN KABHI NAHIN....?"
not PYAR but says about SANGAM, by mukesh from Sangam. Bit similar
to the one "Baghon mein...........NA NA NA" you have mentioned.
3) "CHOD DE SARI DUNIYA KISI KE LIYE....
YEH MUNASIB NAHIN AADMI KE LIYE....
PYAR SE BHI SAROORI KAI KAAM HAI
PYAR SAB KUCH NAHIN ZINDAGI KE LIYE....."
Lata sings for film Swaraswathi Chandra.

How about this song,

Yeh unka hai kaam
Aree, Mehboob ka jo
Bas lete hue naam
Mar jaye, Mit jaye, Ho jaye , Badnaaaaaam
Rehane do chodo, bhi jane do yaar, HUM NA KARENGE PYAAR !

How about the following one:
"TUM KAMSEEN HO ...NADAN HO...NAZUK HO.....BHOLI HO....
SOCH TA HOON MAIN, KE TUMHEN PYAR NA KAROON..........."
FILM : AYEE MILAN KI BELA
SINGER : MOHD. RAFI

: What a lovely song. Thanx for reminding me of it Sarvesh. Anyone know who
: the lyricist(s) for this film is(are) ??
I think the lyricist is Kaifi Azami
: I tend to have a very soft spot for Jagjit Singh in films (sadly, I am not too
: fond of ghazals in general, cannot appreciate them) and "Saath Saath" and "Arth"
: have wonderful songs by him.
Well this is the beauty of Jagjit Singh that even though u miss the meaning
of a few things, he sings in sucha great style and needless to say in his
melodious voice that u do'nt actually care for the meaning at that very moment
And then there is that Asha gem from the film
: "Situm" under Jagjit's music direction "Saara din jaage to bejaan si ho jaate
: haiN" which I think has lyrics by Gulzar.
Oh Yeah this was gem of a piece. The lyricist was Gulzar only.
If anybody has lyrics of this song(?) please post.
: However, I am not sure if this song is expressing the sentiment of "Mujhe pyaar
: tumse nahi hai"; in fact quite the opposite. It says I love you sooo much that
: I cannot let you do this to yourself. An interesting way to express love
: nevertheless.
Well I agree with u.
But now i have another song.
It's by Mohd.Rafi for film Professor.
Ai gulbadan phooloN ki mahak kaNtoN ki chubhan
tujhe dekh ke kehata hai mera man
kahiN aaj kisi se mohabbat na ho jai
Have Fun

You are right Preetham that this song expresses the opposite sentiment.
Although I am not sure if it really says that "... I cannot
let you do this to yourself". This is a very interesting song,
as many of you have noted and it's about denying something
even after knowing just the opposite to be true. MD MadanMohan
has done superb job of inserting a slight pause after after "nahin"
and then a quick "hai" (alluding to the opposite meaning).
Here are the lyrics as I remember:
mujhe pyaar tumse nahin hai magar maine ye raaz abtak na jaana
ki kyoon pyari lagti hain baaten tumhari main kyoon tumse milne
ka dhhondhoo bahana
kabhi maine chaha tumhe chhoo ke dekhooon
kabhi maine chaha tumhe paas lana
magar bhir bhi ...
phir bhi jo tum door rahte ho mujhse to chaate hain dil pe udaasi ke saaye
koi khwaab unche makanon se jhaanke koi khwaab baitha rahe sar jhukaaye
kabhi dil ki raahon me shhaye andhera
kabhi door tak roshni jhilmilaye
magar bhir bhi ...
- a Gulzar wonder -

|> A similar song in this vein is the Mohammad Rafi classic from the film "Suhaagan"
|> "Mere pyaar me tujhe kya mila, tere dil ka phool na khil saka"

tere bina zindagi mein koyi shikva to NAHIN
- from (I think) Aandhi, (that film with Sanjiv Kumar
supposedly about Indira Gandhi)
Sorry, the lricist is Javed Akhtar and not Kaifi Azmi ( but i guess,
you were close in the sense that u chose the father instead of the husband
(of shabana Azmi) )
Amit Agarwal

Another song of this category is by Mohd. Rafi and Lata,
Tere husn ki kya tarif karun kuchh kehetey huey bhi dereta hoon
Kahin bhool se too na samajh baithey ki mai tujhesey muhabbat karata hoon.
