Majnu may be Nepali looking to you, but he is a Christian Panjabi hero
and comedian, real name Harold Lewis.
If you mean the Topiwala who assigns room to Ashok Kumar, he is
Krishan Kant, a famous (Gujarati) character actor.
The song Jogi Aya Leke from P O Box 999 is picturized on him.
Thanks for the song reference. I checked it out on YouTube and -- NO,
that's not the chap I'm referring to as "Nepali-looking". I'll have
to find a photo or something and ask. The actor whose name I'm
seeking does not figure in your list of photos (on your site).

Rattan Gaurang
I am sure you are familiar with his face
Sudhir
I do not know Mr. Gaurang.
I found a film song in which the person I am referring to appears in
full living color. Here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EseWkkkEqc
See at 0:57-1:00 into the clip, the short Gurkha/Nepali person who
stands up and takes a puff and a half while sporting a nasty
expression on his face -- who is he?
-UVR.
Ratan Gaurang and he is Nepali.
He is Ratan Gaurang all right, as stated by Prof. Surjit
Singh. You will also remember him from Raj Kapoor's
"Barsaat" where he appears as K. N. Singh's guru. He acted
in quite a few movies.
There was another Nepali actor who appeared in bit roles,
mostly in Kardar's movies. Here is a YouTube link :

He appears in the last few moments of the song. Prof. Singh
once stated that he too was Ratan Gaurang, but I don't think
so. He seems to be some other Nepali guy. Does anybody know
his name ?
Afzal
I think Afzal is right. He played Suresh's servant in the movie.
This is the same guy who plays the Chinese soldier in Haqeeqat, the
chinese gangsta in China Town, etc.. He must have done bit soles in
100s of films.
Afzal saahib,
Thank you for helping identify the person from Howrah Bridge. My
thanks go to Dr. Singh and Sudhir-ji as well, who was the first one to
mention Ratan Gaurang in this thread.
Regarding the other Nepali-looking guy in the song from Dulari, I
assume you're referring to the person who is standing holding a musket
in his hand. If so, I tend to agree with you that it's not Gaurang.
At any rate, he's not the same person who is seen in Howrah Bridge and
Chala Murari Hero Banne. I do not know his name, but I do have a DVD
of Dulari somewhere in the house; I'll try to pull it out and see if I
can glean anything from the credits.

Majnu was NEVER nepali looking !
He was a Joker in a Circuis. Then he started acting in a 1928 film -
Flames of Flash !!
Majnu name was given to him by R.K. Shorie ( after acting in the film
called Majnu-1935 )
He has directed a few Hindi and Punjabi movies too !!
I have seen him only in one film - Akalmand.
Majnu acted as I. S. Johar's sidekick in some films,
e.g. "Ek Thi Ladki" and "Hum Sab Chor HaiN".
I think he died in or around 1972.
Afzal
I am am zed that this French website on people of cinema has his date
and place of birth!
