1) Twice.
a) Ye rahe tijouri ke chaabi. Isme kuch rupaiye hai. Aur kuch gehne hai
jo ab mere kaam ke nahin, voh bhi le jao. Achcha hai. Babuji ki
jhooti ummeede to tutenge, jo unhone tum dono pe lagaya hai.
b) The Holi flashback - do-chutki-vaale-rangon-ki-thaali. Arre Thakur-
chacha - rangon se kabhi kisi ka dil bhar sakta hai? Aap hi sochiye..
rangon ke bina kitni berang lagegi duniya.
2) Villager of Ramgarh
Kaalia: Arre o Kashiraam, o dholia - kahaan mar gaye sare? ...
Ye aadhi muthi jyohar? Aur baaqi kya apni beti ki baraatiyon ko
khilane rakha hai? Jis din ek goli utaregi khopadia mein, sara

ja, warna Gabbar Singh aa jayega.
Aur ye teen haraam zade, is Gabbar Singh ka naam poora mitti
mein milay diye.
Iski sajaa milegi, baraabar milegi.
(Walks to a member of his gang and picks his pistol)

Extra: Unh?

Mausi: Bura nahin maanna, itna toh poochchna padta hain ji ladke ka
kaandaan kya hain, uske lachchan kaise hain. Kamata kya hain?
Jai: kamaane ka toh, yeh raha mausi, ek baar jab biwi bachchon ki
zimmedaari jab sar pe aayegi toh kamaane bhi lagega..
Mausi: (shocked) Toh kya abhi kuch nahin kamaata??!!
Jai: (quickly) nahin! nahin! yeh maine kab kahatha, mausi..
kamaatha hain, lekin ab roz roz toh aadmi jeet nahi sakta
na. kabhi haar bhi jaatha hain, bechara..
Mausi: (confused) haar jaatha hain???
Jai: (innocently) Haan mausi! ab yeh kambakat jua cheez hi aisi hain,
mein kya kahoon..
Mausi: (!!!) haaainnn!! toh kya juaari bhi hain??? (angry)
Jai: chi chi chi chi chi mausi... woh aur juaari? na, na...
woh toh bahut hi achcha aur nekh ladka hain..
(innocently continues..) Lekin mausi, ek baar sharab pi li na,
phir achchi buri ka kahaan hosh rahta hain. Haath pakkad kar
biTa liya kisi ne jua kelne toh isme bichara Beeru ka kya
dOsh hain??
Mausi: (sarcastically) tekh kahte ho beta; juari woh sharabi woh.
lekin uska koi dOsh nahin!!
Jai: Mausi.. aap toh mere dost ko galat samajh rahe hain. woh
toh itna seedha aur bhola hain. Arrey, Basanti se uski shaadi karke
toh dekhiyae. Ek baar shaadi ho gayi toh us gaane-waali ki ghar
jaana bandh kar dega. bas...sharab apne aap choot jaayegi..
Mausi: (disgustingly) hai hai!! bas ek yehi ek kami rah gayi thi!
Toh kya, kisi gaanewali ki ghar bhi aana jaana hain???
Jai: Toh is mein kaunsi bhuri baat hain mausi?? Arrey, gaane sunne
toh raja maharaja aur unchchey unchchey kandaan ke log jathey
hain. Haan!!
Mausi: Achcha!! toh beta yeh bhi batate jaana ki tumaare gunwaan dost
kis kandaan ke hain??
Jai: (enthusiastically) Bas mausi, kandaan ka pata lagthey hi, hum
apko kabar kar dengey!!!
Mausi: (almost as if she expected that reply) Achcha!!!??!!
Jai: Toh mein rista pakka samjun kya???
Mausi: pakka??!!! ......

There were other scenes in the movie that were pretty funny .. I'd pick
0) Surma Bhopali bullshitting to the crowd about having bullied Veeru and
Jai into arrest .. While he is fibbing away, Veeru and Jai escape
from jail and land up behind him ..
Jai : Age kya hua
SB : Phir age kya hona tha maine unhe baandh kar bahut maara bahut
maara "
Veeru : Phir kya hua ...
SB : (now he sees them) Arey main tho aiiise he majaaak kar raha tha .
(addressing the general public who were listening to his bs)
Arey tumlog kahan se chale aate ho .. kamon kaam doosron se joot
bulvate ho !!
Other funny scenes are
1) Veeru getting caught red handed by Banthi for
acting as Shivji
2) Veeru on the tank
3)Basanthi running to Jai while he is having a chai "Arey .. dekho dekho
..tumhara dost kyaa kar raha hai "
Amitabh (casually looks up) "Dekh liya"
Basanthi :"Arey ! maine kayi kator (can't recall the exact words) dost
dekhe hain par tumhara jaisa yaar kabhi nahin dekha "
Amitabh : "Jab daru utar jayega .. obhee utar jayega "
4) Asrani's 4-5 scenes
One real nice dialogue is by Amitabh :"Angrez ke zamane ke jailer hokar itni
ghabrahat ... !! "
5) Amitabh getting pained bigtime by Basanthi's rambling in her first
appearance in the movie.. Some funny dialogues
"Tumhara naam kya hai basanthi ?"
(after she says her name)"Zindagi mein pahali baar suna hai
ye naam "
(extremely annoyed) "Takhur baldev singh ke ghar jaana hai"
(while getting off the tanga) "Bahut meharbani aapki"
(after they get off) Veeru :" Yaar .. kya pyaree baaten
karti hain"
Jaidev :" Pyari nahin bahut saare baaten
karti hain "

"revenue". One of the villager is Dholia. Kaalia calls out his name when he
is looking for the "taxpayers".

I have always wondered about the luminous strength in the eyes of the hungry.
Somewhere I have read that prolonged hunger triggered off some animal urge to
procreate as some kind of defense against death. Their women would meet your
eyes frankly without any trace of affected modesty, probably it has ceased to
matter anyway, they live at a level where what others think has shrunk to an
infinitesimal dot hidden behind their daily needs. I like honesty.
