SORRY, There was a MAJOR TYPO in my previous article. The block copy in vi
screwed it UP.
The actual lyrics are:
Yeh dil hai mohobbat ka pyaasa
is dil ka tadapna kya kahiye
Mayook hai hum , mardoor ho tum (?)
Aur humse bhi mitana kya kahiye
Yeh dil hai...
a> Yeh Shouk humen ke uthalein unhein
woh sharmoan haya ke mare hai (2)
Yeh had se guzar jana apna
Aur unke simatna kya kahiye
Yeh dil hai...
b> Kisi soch mein ho, kuch hosh nahi
Yeh ghabrahat bhi kaisi hai (2)
Bhalka ke hum hi se hat jana
Phir humse lipatna kya kahiye
Yeh dil hai...
c> Aajaao hamari bahon mein
Haai eh hai kaise majboori (2)
Hum aapke hai koi gair nahi
Aur humse ulajhna kya kahiye
Yeh dil hai...
PS: If there r any mistakes, I shall clarify tommorow, as I am writing
this song recalling from my memory. (with due apologies!).
Sanjeev kumar. (Does this name ring any bell
Saranga teri yaad me nain hue bechain
Madhur tumhare milan bina din kat te nahi rain
Does anybody know which movie this is from?

This question brings back great memories of an exceptional music score.
Every song in this film is a classic.
The film is "Saranga", music by Sardar Mallik (father of Annu Mallik).
This film has yet another version of this song by Mohammad Rafi, a short "alaap"
like version, which is very similar in tune. The other interesting note about
the film is that it has songs by Lata, Asha and Suman Kalyanpur.
There are 2 Mukesh solos, the title song that you mention above and the other
is the song "HaaN deewana hooN mai, gam ka maara hua, ik begaana hooN mai".
The Rafi classic "Na ja mere saathi na ja" is also from this one.
Preetham
The name of the movie is simply "SARANGA". A beautiful song.
