Well I am not quite sure what is referred to by Punjabi actors ... just those
who are from the Punjab ( parts of present Pakistan included too ?) or those
who speak Punjabi ... Jats,Sikhs etc.
If the second is the case how do the above figure in the list
except for Dilip the other names are obvious Muslim names
and dilip is also a muslim

A panjabi is person who has punjabi as is mothertongue or is ethnically
punjabi. People from Pakistani Punjab are as much punjabis. And muslims
can be punjabis too. Infact the dominant ethnic group in pakistan is
punjabis. Dilip interviewed Noorjahaan for Door Darshan in Punjabi.
(He is a pathaan, i think pathans can be punjabis too). Actually
Prithviraj Kapoor and family are Pathans too. They are a very handsome
race. ..... boy I wish i was a pathaan .

Umm....not quite. Pathans are quite a different ethnic group from
Pujabis. Ethnically they are much closer to Afghans than any other ethnic
group in the sub-continent. A pathan may be able to speak punjabi, but that
could perhaps be because his/her family migrated to Punjab, or that he lives
at the border of Punjab and the Frontier province in Pakistan.
Kapoor family *IS* from Peshawar, but I don't think that they are
pathans. Yousuf Khan (Dilip Kumar) on the other hand *IS* a pathan but can
speak both Urdu and Punjabi very fluently.
Another example would be that of Imran Khan (the cricketer), whose
family is pure pathan but have been living in Lahore, Punjab for over three
generations at least now.....

Nope! Sunil Dutt is from Punjab.

Because he is a '..ni'? Not exactly, Balraj Sahni is Punjabi.
He has acted in a number of Punjabi films; as has his son,
Parikshit, who enjoyed a brief string of successes in Punjabi
films at the same time he was acting in Hindi films.

Manoj Kumar is actually a Goswami, a Punjabi brahman. (You'd recall
that his son, Rajiv (?) Goswami, was the male lead in a couple of
films, and his brother (I forget his first name..) appeared in one
film, which I think also was Meenakshi Seshadri's first Hindi film,
though not in a leading role.

I think the movie was "painter babu". The actor was Rajiv Goswami.
The another son of Manoj kumar is Kunaal Goswami who has acted in a few
movies.
