Indraprasth aka New Delhi - Music legend Lata Mangeshkar and her
brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar will be honoured with K L Saigal
lifetime achievement award on November 17.
The awards, constituted in the memory of singer-actor K L Saigal, the
first superstar of Hindi cinema, will be given away by music composer
M Z Khayyam, known for his memorable music in films like 'Umrao Jaan'
and 'Kabhi Kabhie'.
The event is being organised by 'Savitri Vikas Samiti' and will see
the presence of awardees like Actor Jitendra, Prem Chopra, Ravindra
Jain, Sanjay Kapoor, Penaz Masani and Jagjit Kaur.
"I am glad to be able to organise this program; it is a magical
evening with legends like Lataji. K L Saigal awards are given in
memory of Saigal sahib and he will be remembered always," said Prem
Bhatia, member of organising committee.
Lata is a self-confessed fan of Saigal and even dreamt of marrying
him in her childhood but regrets never meeting her idol.
