Sawere ka suraj tumhare liye hain
yeh bujhtE diye ko na tum yAd karnA
Hue ek beetee hui bAt hum to
koi Ansu hum par na barbaad karna

tumhare liye hum, tumhare diye hum
lagan ki agan mein abhee taq jalE hain
hamAree kamee tum ko mahasus quon hon
suhani subah hum tumhe chale hain
jo har dum tumhari khushi chAhatE hain
udAs ho kE unko na nAshAd (?) karna

sabhi waqt ke aage zhukte rahe hain
kisi ke liye waqt rukta nahin hain
koi naaon tufan mein jab dubti hain
ishare (sitare?) to ambar(?) ye hote nahi hain
chaman se jo ik phool bichhada to kyaa hain
naye gul se gulshan ko aabaad karnaa

It has one more verse, but it is rarely played.

This really takes me on a trip into past. This song was a moderate hit
in late 70's, my school days. Connoisseur of hindi music that I was ;-),
I used to turn up my nose at the hit songs and discourse at length(!) on the
little known gems like "sawere ka suraj ..."

The song by itself is nothing special. The lyrics are not great (although very
direct and sincere), the melody is very much in the OP style,
the orchestration is nothing to rave about, but Kishore, the
maestro of emoting, has sung it so darned well... His voice haunts my ears
whenever the song comes to my mind.

Prashant

ps: An OP melody in Kishore's voice does sound unusual. Another unusual thing
in this song is the taal: zhaptaal.
