Actor Manish -Saraswatichandra

Manish played a lead role in the Film Saraswatichandra opposite to
Nutan.I do not remember any other film releaed where Manish has acted.

He was begali-(i suppose?) and no information is availalbe on him.

I need help form this group if any one can share.....

The actor Manish has a striking resemblance to a Bengali actor of the
60s and 70s named Ashim Kumar. In fact, I used to think that the actor
in the Saraswatichandra songs was Ashim Kumar when I used to see the
songs on TV-Chitrahaar/mala in the 70s and 80s. I think I have a song-
video from one of Ashim Kumar's Bengali movies from mid-60s and will
try to capture a still to see if others think they're the same person.
(I have one of his movies from 80s, but he's quite old in this movie
and it mightn't be a good facial comparison).

He is Ashimkumar A Bengali stage actor (and may be also Bengali film
actor). Govind Saraiyya has written an article about making of
Saraswatichandra in latest Diwali Special Issue of Mumbai Samachar. He
has given this information in the same. Before selecting Ashimkumar,
Dilipkumar and Rajendrakumar were also considered for the character of
Sarswatichandra. Nimmi was selected for roll which was performed by
Nutan.Initially Pt.Omkarnath Thakur was to compose music for the film.

One Ashim Kumar has also acted in some hindi and bhojpuri films, but
certainly he is not Manish of S Chandra

Anyone knows anything further about Manish of Saraswati Chandra 1968 fame. He has emoted well for the most beautiful song ever - Chandan Sa Badan and we therefore have a right to know what this star is doing these days and something more about his personal and professional life... ANYONE OUT THERE? Something anything on Manish?

Manish known for Saraswatichandra (1968),also acted in Barood (1998) and Vishnu Puran (1973).

He is indeed Ashim Kumar of Bengali cinema. No confusion about that. Check out this song from Bangla movie Agneeswar. The song has been picturized on him and he sings it on screen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K6jip5nruM&t=18s.
Unfortunately he kept on getting sidelined and could only get roles of no significance.

This Ashim Kumar(Manish Kumar) from Saraswatichandra is the same Ashim Kumar from Benglai Films ,Neelachale Mahaprabhu,Antony Firinghee Kajal and many others.There was another Ashim Kumar who acted in Hindi films like Chhaya ,Parivar ,Devdasetc.
