I'd like to know if somebody has Telugu version of 'Kuhu Kuhu' and who are
the singers here. I've heard it only once on radio long time back and liked
it very much.

It is from "Sundarakanda" with Venkatesh as the hero. Singers are Balu and

You are probably referring to K.Bhagyaraj's "Sundara Kaandam" which
was remade in Telugu and Hindi (Anil Kapoor's "Andaaz"). All three had
(or something close to) a "kuku/kuhu" song. ("Andaaz" had a "dil ka
panchhi bole kuku kuku"?).

The original question was about the "Suvarna Sundari" trilingual. The
"kuhu kuhu bole" equivalent was "haayi haayi ga aamani saage" and was
sung by Ghantasaala and Jikki in the Telugu version. The popular song
from this movie in south was P.Susheela's "piluvakuraa alugakuraa",
which had some nice flute music. It came as "azhaikaadhey
ninaikaadhey" in the Tamil version "Manaalane Mangayarin Bhagiyam".
But the Hindi version "mujhe na bulaa mujhe na bulaa" by Lata is not
as famous as "kuhu kuhu bole". Probably, they were content with the
similar "man dole mera tan dole" (Nagin).

There is one Kuku Kuku song in the file enga chinna rasa, another earlier
bhagyaraj film, I don't know whether you are refering this one. This was remade
in hindi as beta and 'dil ka panchhi bole kuku kuku' song is from that film,
I believe. Enga chinna rasa is probably the last hit film from sanker-ganesh
duo, and it has some other good songs too. The only song, I remember from
sundra kandam film now is 'figure figure enna figure', incidently music
is scored by k.Bhagiyaraj itself.

I am responding to both posts because I missed the prev
post

In article <5arhmv$m...@hermes.acs.unt.edu>, vpg...@jove.acs.unt.edu says...

Well the music of the telugu sundarAkAnDa is not based on the tamil
sundarakAnDam. The telugu sundarAkAnDa has some excellent songs by
M.M. kIravANi and the songs in andAz were based on these. Needless
to say there was a very popular kuhu kuhu song in sundarAkAnDa

Hmm, one more trio. But wasn't "Chinna Raja" just a dubbed version of
"Enga Chinna Rasa"? So the actors would be Bhagyaraj and Radha.
"Sundara Kaanda" did have Venkatesh and Meena in it.

The Beta song "koyal si teri boli kuku kuku" (Anand-Milind) was copied
from "konda sEval koovum neram kuku kuku" (Shankar-Ganesh). "Andaaz"
was by Bappi Lahiri and had the "dil ka panchchi" (Anil & Karisma Kapoor).

>> Enga chinna rasa is probably the last hit film from sanker-ganesh

True. This movie took on Raja's hits like "Enga Ooru Pattukaaran" and
"Nayagan" in 1987 (?).

But among the two only Ganesh did the music for the film. Shanker
probably passed away much earlier.

The song "Enna figure enna figure" was from the movie "Aararo
Aariraro" (Banupriya) and yes, with music by KB himself.
