This song has excellent music by Rajesh Roshan. Lyrics are by Majrooh.
It's a perfect song to illustrate dynamics and harmonization. The way KK
sometimes lowers his voice and sings a phrase softly and with full force at
other times. He sounds quite good in this song, his voice so real, so vibrant
and resonant. Lata's Aaaaas..are just lovely. Good ol' Rafi wasn't given
much of a chance (partiality!). But he sounds as he is supposed to sound,
sings that para in a relatively high pitch.
I think it's a great accomplishment for a singer to be able to sing exactly
what's desired of him/her in terms of mood, pitch, articulation, dynamics and
rhythm. In other words, to produce a sound that is being demanded. Which
also means that the singer must have a strong control over his/her voice,
among other things. And, to prove oneself, what does one require? And,
specifically, what does a singer require? Nothing much, usually, a para
does it!

Me got a question regarding the couplet from this song which I had
mentioned along with the request.
Shouldn't KK's (justification)
"koi hum dum hai chaahat ke kaabil, to kis liye hum sambhal jaaein"
occur just after Lata's (concern/apprehension)
"Khoye se hum, khoyi si manzil, achcha hai sambhal jaye hum.." ??
Otherwise it doesn't make sense. Or maybe Lata sings that before also
(in that case "khoye se .....jaye hum" would be part of the "mukhdaa").

Could you tell more about this song -- movie? Picturizations.
I am wondering what kind of triangle shot is this? I remember one from
Haseena Maan Jaayegee, where double role Shashi Kapoor are wooing the
same girl

Mujhe aisa kyoon mehsoos ho raha hai ke aap keh kuch rahein hain aur

Nahi jee....mujh se koi galti nahi hui. Gaana aise hi flow karta
hai. Jahan tak sense ki baat hai, ye ho sakta hai ke aap Rafi ke part
ko include nahi karein agar to flow better lagta hai, KK aur Lata ke
parts ka.

Agar knight in shining armor naheeN toh how about a cowboy on that white
steed to help the lady? :)))
Film story was kinda complicated. Neetu and Rishi are newly in love (and
newlyweds too methinks)... problems occur.... Rishi's boss is Rakhee (it was
her, wasn't it? ) Raakhee was previously in love with Shashi Kapoor but the
guy has to go and die on her. So she is kinda lonely. Somehow Rishi kind of
gets to start liking her. This song occurs as these two are going for a
walk. One nice (clean , in my opinion) thing, was that they show Rishi
quite a distance away from her walking on the "munder" and doing young-young
antics (Raakhee is supposed to be kinda older than him) whil Raakhee wears a
shawl and is following him... I think that Rishi reminds her of Shashi. It
is Shashi who she imagines is singing the beech ka lines...
Btw, Rafi-ans & KKKlaners, what do you say to that can Rafi's singing remind
anybody of Kishore?? Raakhee must be tone deaf!! But then how can anybody
singing in the voice of Lata be called tone-deaf??? :))

Good point and counter-point!!
This is the Mobius strip dilemma, one question takes you to another
plane whose question brings you back to the first plane!

But enough to arouse interest :-)
If it had been another of 2 guy competition etc and the bad guy
momentarily winning, I won't give 1/2 a hoot.

This song is from the movie Doosra Aadmi. It had Shashi Kapoor, Rakhee, Rishi
Kapoor, Neetu Singh etc. Rakhee works for some advertising company and she is
very well known for her work. Rishi Kapoor joins the same firm. Rishi reminds
Rakhee of her late fiancee (Shashi). Above song is picturised on Rakhee and Rishi
and there is part by Shashi (I think which is sung by Rafi).
Hope it helps. I don't think it was a very hit film becuase they showed it on TV
(Delhi Doordarshan) within 2 years.
